Alex woke, aware instantly that his brother was in his room. He had a brief moment of peace, wondering what he wanted, then he recalled the previous night’s events. He groaned at his own stupidity and knew without a doubt he deserved the dressing down he was certain William was about to give him. “I’m surprised you didn’t make it here last night.” Alex couldn’t bring himself to open his eyes and look at his brother. One bright point was that William was obviously getting very good at shielding his own thoughts. Alex doubted his brother was terribly happy with his behaviour.
