Chapter 2A few days later Dr. Neugenknocked onmy office door while I was looking at the dark and dangerous planetwe were headed for. She’s about five-seven, with blue laughing eyesand dark hair. “Major Ryvenbark, sir.”
She caught me between steps. Istumbled, then caught myself and have her a half-salute back.

I dropped the salute and offered myhand. She laughed and slapped it away. Then opened her arms.
