Introduction (ii) Ines Garcon's nostalgia

They were deep in a dark cave that didn't have any light, stalagmites and stalactites was what covered the whole cave, these stalagmites and stalactites were also what had saved most of them against being eaten alive by the rotten corpses. The smell of dead was heavy in this cave which made them have a difficulty in breathing.

Furthermore, the rotten corpses themselves were emanating a fetid stench and came from the maggots moving around in their bodies fervently, not even mentioning that there were also flies which agitated Alicia Roosevelt's group because the flies would booze dauntingly upon them when they struck their food which was the rotten walking corpses, it was as if the flies were angered by them.

"Huff! Huff! Huff! I will kill you all *uckers, If I am to go down, I will go with many of you." Cateline Brisbois scorned, she was full of prejudice upon the rotten corpses.

Ines Garcon joined the army of knights to show off her talent and protect the people of the kingdom of Azuhai. She had vowed that she would do anything for the queen. Anything that would make them win against the war against Virtya Markov.

She didn't expect that the journey to Collow Abyssinian would be this intense in that it would take the life of many of her friends, she had thus, decided that she would fight until she died, she was not going to give up but take many of the rotten corpses to the nether with her. But at this moment, she found herself and her friend encompassed with countless rotten corpses that wanted to rip some chunks of flesh from her, they were only the two of them remaining at this place, many of her comrades had already been subdued and taken out.

In the next moment, Ines Garcon's friend was suddenly overwhelmed and grasped by many rotten corpses that drag him away towards their midst before he was ripped apart. Ines Garcon could only hear her comrade's distant cries as he cried for help. The cries died down after some time, probably her comrade was finally gone, she could even hear the cracking of bones as the rotten corpses gnawed on his flesh.

This action scared her rendering her helpless and afraid. For the first time since she joined the army, fear crept into her heart. She didn't even knew when the grip on her sword loosened, what made her knew that was the clank sound of the sword that fell to the ground.

One should know that the rotten corpses were busy gnawing the flesh of his friend and when they heard the clank sound, it was like they had been suddenly jolted, they remembered that they had left the last person uneaten.

It was like the rotten corpses were AI beings themselves in such a way that they could roll their heads three hundred degrees, they didn't need to tilt their whole body so that they could view what was happening behind them. Just like that, the rotten corpses snarled dauntingly and squirmed towards Ines Garcon.

The speed at which the rotten corpses were coming towards her was unprecedented. Some of them didn't care even about camaraderie, they shoved their fellows aside or step on them so that they could reach up to this beacon of life.

Ines Garcon has decided to bend down to pick up her sword but unfortunately, that was not doable right now because the rotten corpses had reached her already. She didn't even have the energy to run to her other comrades so that they could give her a helping hand.

"It seems like I am going to die in this place. Sasha, please love your father and don't be rambunctious. I love both of you..." Ines Garcon said to herself as she held a small doll that one could tell that it was made by a child. Ines Garcon had already accepted the outcome that just like all her other comrades, she was also going to die, she could see it, countless rotten phalanges reached unto her with the intention of ripping her apart so that each one of them could have a share of her flesh but before the phalanges could even shred her apart, a glistening sword came out of nowhere and severed all the rotten corpses around her.

A big circle had formed around her where by in this circle, several rotten appendages and skulls of the severed rotten corpses could be seen. The rotten corpses didn't come back to life, they had been utterly killed which was strange to Ines Garcon because since they started fighting against these rotten corpses, they found out that the rotten corpses were almost immortal, even if their appendages were severed, they would still roll towards them with their remaining body part. Ines Garcon had never seen such a thing, she then realized why Collow Abyssinian was a f*******n place, anyone who stepped in this place was certain to die.

Anyway, Ines Garcon tilted her head slowly by slowly until she saw who was wielding the glistening sword, it was non other than queen Alice Roosevelt, she didn't knew why she felt the way she was feeling but something told Ines Garcon that queen Alice Roosevelt had become a different person, no, she was not even a person but a demon, but this demon had saved her, she didn't knew how she should react as her body was now quivering uncontrollably, she found Alicia Roosevelt to be even more daunting and terrifying than the rotten corpses that were salivating over her flesh.

Right now, the periphery of Alicia Roosevelt's eyes were gleaming red without her even knowing and because they were deep in this dark cave, the gleam was like torches in this place.

"Everyone, don't give up this early, it is almost time for the dark stone to show up." Queen Alice Roosevelt hollered, her voice reaching to every knight giving them an added vigour because they had heard that they were almost winning, no one wanted to die in this place after all, they were only desperate because the rotten corpses were countless and they were also unkillable.

Moreover, Alicia Roosevelt's voice also reached into the ears of the rotten corpses which agitated the rotten corpses making them to growl in displeasure as they swung their claws even more dauntingly, not daring to give the knights the chance to survive.

To Ines Garcon, Alicia Roosevelt's voice was like finding water in a desert, she didn't knew even where she found the energy but she squatted down the next moment and got her sword before continuing with "killing" the rotten corpses, it was like she had been resurrected with her full energy.

On the other hand, while Alicia Roosevelt was still fighting against the rotten corpses without rest, the world changed before her. It was like time had been brought to a sudden halt. Everything around her including her comrades, her army and the rotten corpses came to a sudden stop, she was the only one who was abnormal here because unlike the rest, she could move.

"What has just happened? Is something very powerful approaching?" Alicia Roosevelt murmured to herself but before she could even continue to mull over it, she felt goosebumps all over her body and then in a blink of an eye, an avian being appeared in front of her. This being was not small or bigger, it was hard to explain its features because even when Alicia tried to imprint the image of this avian in her mind, it was like the image was being erased every second as she download the image, she found herself in a loop.

To summarize the appearance of the avian in front of her, Alicia Roosevelt could only say that it was encompassed in shadows and it was also emanating dark mists that made its appearance to appear even more vague.

"Come!" Alicia heard the calling of the avian being and without even desiring to approach this being, her body moved on its own.

Right now, Alicia Roosevelt and the avian were confronting each other, no one wanted to lose in this staring competition.
