“I think it a wise precaution,” Colena said smiling at John Summerfield.
He smiled back.
Then she passed by him to run to the stables.
As she came out of the door, she found that Lord Heronwood had already brought the horses to the front.
He was riding one and leading the other on which he had put a side saddle.
He passed the doctor’s carriage as he came from the stables and said,
“I see the doctor is with your sister. I am glad he has come just in case there is anything else he could do to make her recover more quickly.”
“He has brought a somewhat unusual medicine with him in the shape of a young man,” Colena told him.
Lord Heronwood stared at her before he asked,
“A young man?”
“Yes. He is the son of the Lord Lieutenant, who is apparently planning to go abroad.”
