I check the time, and it's 10:30 pm, and I decide to check on Lia. Everyone went to bed about an hour ago, and I ran Lia a warm bath, but she hasn’t returned. The bathtub has a heating system feature to keep the water from getting cold, but I’m worried. Lia went to tuck in the kids around about the same time. She should have been back by now.
I head to Kiara’s room first and slowly push the door open, but she’s not here. I quietly walk over to the bed after noticing she's kicked off her blanket, careful not to wake her. Tonight is not a warm night, and she's coming down with a cold. She still struggles to sleep after what Kim did to her.
