“Oh God,” I mutter, leaning on my knees when Chris tells me what his contact just told him. This has been the longest two hours of my life. Chris’s friend was able to confirm that Lia is on that boat and is going to send someone to retrieve her, but it’s going to take two days for the person to get there. “Two days is too long. She must be scared out of her mind,” I mutter, running my fingers through my hair in frustration; the thought of her being in some boat with some scum makes me lose it all over again.
