Cal turned to the creaking wooden sound of his bedroom door opening. His door never creaked, and no one except him ever opened his door. Ms Doe knocked, the nannies never came here, and Nova was too short to reach the doorknob, so she stood outside and shouted for him to open it all the time. His breath stopped when he saw a female figure standing by the door. His room was not so dim that he should be unable to see her face, but for some reason he could only see an outline. Maybe his room was dark after all. The woman closed the door behind her, and her seductive feminine scent traveled round every corner of the bedroom, mixing, wrapping, till the very air he sucked into his lungs smelled like her. He squinted, leaning forward, although he would have preferred to close the distance
