“Nice to meet you, Azren,” she spoke softly, but under the elegant smile and dress, I could see her deceit. “Pleasure to meet you!” I spoke, clenching my teeth, and she pressed my hands while smiling. “Don't cause any trouble!” Kade spoke, looking at me. He banged the cup while Tasha held his hands. Kade noticed my uncomfortableness and held my hands despite Tasha's efforts to stop him. “Ladies and gentlemen, I officially present my Luna!” he spoke with utmost pride. “Which one, Alpha?” a voice echoed in the crowd. Before he could answer, Tasha fell down, drawing all the attention towards her. Kade carried her as anger burned in my soul. I didn't know her, but I certainly knew she was of no good. “I'm coming!” Kade answered, but when he went up, none of us saw him again till the party ended. I wanted to go and bang at the door since jealousy was killing me, but I decided to maintain my position as the Luna and gain the trust of the pack, especially because they all lost in on Kade. After seeing everyone off, Kade came in with his shirt unbuttoned and red lipstick on it, looking messy. I didn't want to talk to him as I crossed him, going to my room. Of course, like a persistent Alpha, he found his way to my room. “Are you angry?” he spoke, not knowing if he was remorseful or commanding. “No,” I said, removing my clothes. “Tasha will be staying with us for a while until her parents come back from vacation,” he said, going to lay in bed. “Why didn't you tell me that one of your mates survived?” I said, catching his attention as he sat down. “I didn't think it was important,” he dismissed. “After the activity you two just had, I think it's good for me to be informed,” I spoke. “Are you jealous?” he asked, walking towards me. “No,” I spoke. “You shouldn't be. I might be cursed and have a lot, but I'm not a cheat,” he said, raising me up against his chest. I pointed to the lipstick, and he smiled. “I got this while carrying her, and I stayed long because I didn't master the room. It took me a long time to get her everything!” he spoke, and my mind went to rest. “You shouldn't be scared of another woman. You're the only one who can stand me, especially my curse,” he spoke softly. He confused me with his multi-characters. One moment he's ruthless, and the next he's gentle. I didn't know which version to settle for. He pulled me closer. I could feel his erection as the joystick played around, ready to shoot out. I lifted my feet up so as to feel it. He noticed me and immediately kept his distance and lay on the bed. I was disappointed twice a day. After putting on my nightdress, I went towards him, trying to cuddle, but he drifted away. “Don’t do that. You know there's no way we can consummate this mating,” he spoke. Those words made me disappointed, but I didn't want to put my life in danger, so I let it go. “Do you think I'll make it?” I whispered the question in my head. “Do you want yourself alive?” he asked. “Yes,” I whimpered. “Then you'll have to,” he spoke, and within seconds, he fell asleep like nothing in the world bothered him. I stared back at the wall, which felt alive, staring at me. And even in my sleep, I could feel Kade's eyes and aura watching me. My nightmare woke me up, sweating drastically. I looked, and he was nowhere. I could hear his dark laughter downstairs, and I went to check, only to find him and Tasha having drinks. “Did we wake you up?” Tasha asked, her teeth still shining. “We?” I was shocked. “Yes, you know, I came and you were sleeping, so I just took Kade to speak about our childhood memories,” she spoke, getting close to Kade. My jealousy and anger got intense as I noticed Kade feeling some pain, though holding it. “Can we go back now!” I spoke, looking at the blindfolded Kade. “Don't be such a party popper. We just got here. You can drink some,” she said, pointing at her drink, but I wasn't interested. She still held Kade's hands and pressed her body against Kade, which made me angrier. Kade's pain got worse as he left us alone to hide. “Azren, right? It will do us right if you do not meddle with my plans again,” she spoke, finally revealing her true character. “Who are you?” I asked, noticing the magic cover-up. She laughed and sang the same song that I heard from the witch the time she came to take me for the ritual. “You cheated death but redirected me!” she spoke, her body turning into the old woman I saw the last time. “Leave me alone!” I said, my voice shaking. “Oh, I did. But if you meddle with my plans again, I won't hesitate but to come to you again,” she spoke. Immediately, Kade walked out, and she turned back to the young Tasha, my mind refusing to believe what I was seeing. I watched Kade reaching for the drink, but I threw it away from his hands. Tasha grew angry, proving my suspicion. “What did you do that for?” Kade spoke angrily. “Maybe she's jealous!” Tasha spoke. “Listen, Azren, I might be your Alpha, but under no account do I take disrespect. For what you just did, you'll have to face punishment,” Kade spoke, shocking me. Before I could defend myself, Kade pulled me through the stairs and threw me in the room. Tasha stood there looking at me with a smirk, ready to laugh. “Please listen to me!” I pleaded, but his dark aura overtook him. “You're going to stay here till you get back to your senses!” he commanded as he locked the room. I could hear him and Tasha laughing while walking downstairs as he apologized to her. My heart burned into anger, ready to unleash it, but my wolf hadn't come to me yet, so I was helpless. “You seem like a worried child!” Linda's voice could be heard as she walked towards me. “I did nothing wrong,” I said, crying. “Kade is in three forms—his cursed self, his wolf self, and his normal nature,” she said, getting my hair. “What do you mean?” I asked, my mind filled with confusion. “You're so innocent, my Luna. What that means is that one person can manipulate one side of him to overtake his other side,” she said with a smile. “The woman is the death that came around me the previous night!” I spoke, calming down. “I know, I did warn you after all,” she spoke. “You returned to death what it seeked, and H now it's seeking Kade,” she spoke, and my heart limped. “Why did she not come for him the same way she did me?” I asked more questions popping in my head. “Child, Kade is not a weakling. He can defeat death. He can defeat her—especially if he can see her clearly,” she spoke. “Meet me at the gate tomorrow morning!” she then left me, looking for even a shadow of her for answers to my questions. Can I really save him?
