This day was foreseen. It was obviously inevitable that the military force would turn against them and turn them into captives, since the Coup and it's backfiring rebellion. A woman, in her early forties, ran impatiently, pulling her son with her wrapper almost falling from her waist, as they sought a place to hide. The Guns couldn't stop firing and the citizens could only run, in doubt of what their Leaders really want with them. Would they kill every citizen without questions or they have targets? No one dared to wait for confirmation. Confirmation caught up with some who were captured, tied and thrown in the trunks of old commercial buses and military vans. The woman was already tired as she sat with her son, in an uncompleted building. She was breathing so heavily that she couldn't feel herself taking in air. The boy's face seemed unscrutable; he wasn't smiling, neither was he frowning; he wasn't laughing, neither was he crying. He just stood by his mother who had already given up. The gunshots got louder every second and she felt the approach of death, in form of a cold comforting breeze. A soldier rushed in and found her. The breeze ceased to blow, as she stared at the soldier who stared back evilly. "Please, he's all I have left. Spare him", she sobbed, bitterly, as she didn't see hope in the eyes of the man before her. "I'll give anything... I can be your mistress-" "Shh!", he told her to shut her mouth as he wore a mischievous smile. "Move back... take your wrapper down" She was about to do it when her little son ran towards the soldier, hitting him repeatedly in the groin. The soldier resisted by pushing the boy and, furiously, pointed his gun and shot without holding back. The woman lost control and ran at the soldier, placing her teeth on his neck and biting hard. She clung to him with all the feminine strength in her, as she kept biting. The soldier eventually, broke free but not without a scar. He pulled his gun, quickly, and shot repeatedly. While the bloody m******e was still going on, the soldier pulled the woman's body, farther into the building. He unhooked his belt, pulled down his pants and was going to do the nasty with the Woman's carcass. The clouds quickly turned dark and there was a rainy storm... The soldier was still there when a sudden fork lightning struck and, like a shadow, he saw the shape of a man before him... ★★★ ★★★ ★★★ A few hours earlier... "I'm not leaving here without something. I'm taking your generator. Deal?", Joe said. They were gambling in Shayo's house with a few other friends. "No problem, if you can stake the 50000 Naira with you", Shayo replied, confidently. "Come On, that's all I brought!" "Deal or no deal?" Joe hesitated for a while but, "Ok... No Problem. First, Biggie should check if the generator is outside. I will take it home, today" They began their game of cards and Biggie, one of them, walked out. They kept playing, chatting and exchanging abuses till they heard a gunshot. There was silence. Joe stood up and moved closer to the door to peep outside. As he bent to look, Biggie was pushed in and they all moved back, startled. Biggie wasn't alone; he had a gun, pointed at his head, and a soldier holding the threatening weapon. The soldier shot Biggie in the head, saying no word. More soldiers entered and..... In the trunk of a bus, they peered through the glass, as the stormy rain clouded their view of the m******e outside. They could hear frightening thunders but nothing was more scary than the situation they were in. While Joe was thinking of a way to successfully escape through the glass, they passed by another Military Van. He drew back as he noticed a soldier in the van. He kept staring till a lightning struck the van and his bravery. The Van went up in flames, followed by another frightening thunder, but their bus didn't stop. The soldiers weren't aware.... ★★★ ★★★ ★★★ Shop owners closed their shops in a rush. "All Borders Are Ordered To Be Closed. All Civilians Are To Surrender To The New Government As Soldiers Are To Use Every Force Applicable"... A boy seemed stranded. He ran to the roadside, waving for help. All kinds of vehicles and people passed by him. They were all scared and in a rush. He was scared, being a foreigner with nowhere to go. A man and his wife stopped, quickly. "Get in, Son", the man let him in the car and they zoomed off. "Why were you by the roadside? I mean, in a situation like this, you should be with your family", the man asked as he drove. "I'm South African. I escaped a war.... i just got here", he replied. "Well, that's unfortunate, Son, 'cause you got to Nigeria at the wrong time... Looks like you'll be following us a long way", he looked at his wife who looked back in agreement. "Thank you, Sir... for the help. Many passed by me", the boy said. "Everyone's panicky. The unrest you have walked into might be greater than the one you left behind" The man's wife looked back. "What's your name?" "My Name's Alex-", he was cut short as gunshots tore through their eardrums. The rain of bullets deflated the tires, stopping the car. Alex had brought his down, in fear. He looked up to see the aftermath of the bullet shower; The man's wife already had a bullet through her neck. "Aargh! Buchi! No!!!", the man screamed with his eyes laced with tears. A group of soldiers approached them and they were thrown in the trunk of a van. The soldiers drove further and confronted a rebellious gang of male youths, armed with sticks and other weapons. The car stopped and the only thing Alex and the man could hear were the gunshots. They weren't opportuned to see the s*******r of 40 Nigerian youths...
