My mother didn’t explode. When she didn’t scream and shout at me, Dan had makes a comment on how I ‘have broken your mother this time’ but mum simply smiled at me and kissed the top of my head before handing me her own wedding ring. I widen my eyes when the ring is placed in my hands. I recognised the ring as my grandmothers; my dad had given it to my mum when they got married and I guess mum kept it after all these years. “Give it to her.” Was all she said before dismissing me to watch something on telly.
