Chapter 5

  JD’s POV

When I stared at Victoria earlier and saw her staring back at me, I couldn’t help but get more curious about her. She looks attractive from afar. I kept my eyes on her wherever she went. I saw how she was laughing and enjoying with her friends. She’s really a beauty but looks can be deceiving. I saw some men trying to dance with her but she was distant from all of them. It’s weird that she’s acting this way. I thought of her as someone who loves to spend and party. When I saw her going to somewhere, I decided to see her up-close. I planned about us bumping into each other.

I hurriedly went to the restroom when I saw her going to that direction. I immediately put my plan to action. I quickly move towards her so I can get her off guard. And she did bump into me just a bit harder though. Good thing I got fast reflex. I was able to get hold of her quickly before she could go face down on the floor. I felt her hands on my chest to get a balance. Her head was down so I couldn’t see her face.

I don’t know what’s gotten into me but I couldn’t control the urge to hold her body tight. She’s so soft and smells great. I didn’t hear any complaints from her or not even a word. She was just quiet.

When I helped her to stand up, I saw the surprised look on her face. I am certain she knows who I am. That area in the restroom is a bit dark but I can clearly see her face. She’s actually facing the small glow from the light. I first noticed her long thick eyelashes which enhance more her dark brown doe-eyes. She has fine straight nose and those lips..I had to shake off my thoughts.

She stammered while talking. I can sense she’s nervous from me. I couldn’t stop myself from smiling. If that’s another woman, she would try to impress me. However, this woman in my arms is different. I waited for her next move but I was dismayed that she took off that quick. I was about to introduce myself to her and expecting the same from her. My friends would laugh at me if they found out what she just did. Oh well, it was just a little blow to my ego.

She puzzled me. Why does she act like an innocent lady? She could have used her good looks to get my attention but she never did anything. She could have started a conversation with me which I would gladly indulge. Instead, she immediately left. For a few seconds there, I was left dumbfounded.

Victoria is simply beautiful. She has this classic look that you would never get tired of staring all day. She looks more beautiful when you look at her for a long time. I am not exaggerating but she is simply beautiful.

I have known a lot of beautiful women in my life. Some of them were famous models, celebrities, wealthy heiresses… but she is different. There’s more to her looks than meets the eye. It’s like you want to know more of her. That’s the impression she showed me earlier in those brief moments.

Hold on... why am I praising her like this?! She is an enemy!This is so f*****g disgusting thinking that way about her. It must be lust. It’s a natural body reaction since she is really damn beautiful. She’s tall and has a slender body with just the right curves. I don’t need to describe her body further. If she gets pampered at the salon, I am sure she could give those actresses and models a run for their money. The pictures of her didn’t do her justice. She is more beautiful in person. No wonder dad got so crazy about her.

What a waste! She is smart and beautiful woman but she used them in a demeaning way, using an old lonely man. I wonder how many men did she get involve with or maybe dad is her first. It doesn’t matter. She is no angel but an ambitious gold digger b***h. I should not get swayed by her looks. If she wants to play, so be it!

I didn’t stay longer at the bar. I have some important things to do. After I met Victoria in person, I decided to take actions myself immediately. So when I arrived at my condo, I called my investigator right away.

“Hello Ricky... how’s your investigation going so far?” I asked him straightway, not wasting any time.

“Hello Sir... I am still getting more information regarding the orphanage where Ms. Sanford stayed before. I also investigated her former house with her parents in Blakeson. It is a bit far from the capital city. It’s basically in a remote area.” Informed Ricky.

I need to take some actions before dad will get completely ruined by that woman. The information I gathered from Ricky are enough to know more of her background.

“Thank you so much Ricky for your service. I already got a lot of vital information from you. I will take it from here. Please hand-over all your documents to me tomorrow in the office. You will be rewarded accordingly for your great service.” I sighed deeply and unconsciously massage my forehead. I just hope I am taking the right decision. It is solely for dad’s interest. In a few days, Victoria will be out of my dad’s sight. I am not going to stop until I fully get rid of her.

I took my whole day reviewing and signing some paperworks. I need to finish my work in the office for a few weeks so there are no hindrances to my plan. I also rescheduled some of my business trips abroad. I can’t afford to make mistakes with my plan.

When it was night time,, I was driving my way to Crestfall Hotel. That’s where dad and his gf are going to have their dinner date. I want to see them with my own eyes so I know what to do next. I arrived 30 minutes earlier than their appointed dinner.

I know the restaurant where they are going. I already made a reservation earlier. I specifically chose a place at a very corner that is slightly hidden from other customers.

After 20 minutes, I saw dad came in with his bodyguard. Their table was close to mine but they can’t see me at all. I planned everything well. Just a few minutes after, Ms. Sanford arrived. She’s wearing a casual outfit, a white ruffled sleeveless blouse over a black skinny jeans with sparkly metallic flats. She put on a very light make-up, still she looks gorgeous. Well, I am not surprised anymore. She knows how to play her cards well.

When my dad saw her, he had a big smile on his face. He welcomed her with a hug and she hugged him back. I can see that they are very comfortable with each other. Dad keeps beaming at her while she’s talking. Ms. Sanford is also smiling radiantly. I clenched my fist from so much hatred. Let’s see, Ms. Sanford. Are you still going to smile after I am done with you?!

I stayed for 15 minutes more. I saw what I came here for. I couldn’t stomach seeing my dad getting fooled like a lap dog infront of my face. I just wanted to see them together, on how they interact with each other during their vulnerable moments.

They have too much PDAs, they don’t even care from the stares they get from the other diners. This woman is used to this kind of lowlife ways. She’s a professional w***e.

Instead of heading to my condo, I called up Jared and invited him for a drink. I know it’s Sunday and tomorrow is working day. I just needed someone to talk to.

“Hey man, you called? What’s up?” It’s Jared on the other line and I can hear some loud music and people laughing from the background.

“Hi Jared, I thought you are not busy. I wanted to have a drink with you but I guess you are in a party.”

Jared was laughing with someone talking to him. Then he got back to me. “I am sorry about that. This is a surprised party for us by my fiancée’s parents.” My friend is so lucky to have Nicole. She’s taking good care of him. He used to be a playboy before but now he’s a reformed rake.

I didn’t make our conversation long. I told him to enjoy. I ended up drinking alone in a bar. After half an hour at the bar, Melissa arrived with some friends. I was surprised to see her. I haven’t contacted her since the last time I went to her condo.

“Hey JD, nice to see you here.” Melissa greeted and immediately went to kiss me on the cheek and hugged me tightly. It’s like the normal thing we do.

I just smiled at her. I was deep in my thoughts so I didn’t notice that she stayed beside me.

“So, what’s new with you? Why are you drinking by yourself? Asked Melissa while arching her eyebrow.

I took a deep breath. No one knows my problem except Jared.

“I just want to unwind a bit.” I replied briefly. I don’t share my problems nor thoughts to anyone else, not even Melissa whom I’m sexually involved with.

“Why don’t you come with me and unwind in my place? I have so many things in mind to keep you relaxed .” Said Melissa in her sexy voice but it doesn’t have an effect on me anymore.

I am not in the mood for anything right now. Not even  Melissa’s hot cleavage could lure me to have s*x with her. She just f****d up my mood all the more. So, I didn’t waste my time and bid her goodbye. I went to my condo and continued drinking. I don’t want additional distractions. I finished a glass of wine before I decided to go sleep. The last thing I remember before going to sleep was a pair of dark brown doe-eyes.
