A DEAL

1643 Words
Audrey’s POV Never in my life have I wished for someone’s death like I did for Alaric right now. If he wanted to say something, he could have waited for us to finish and break it. But nope, he was just a jealous wolf who could not keep his eyes off me and his mouth shut. “Of all places, brother, you chose this place. To taunt me or what?” He said, drawing out a chair before sitting down. Asher walked away from me and towards the opposite side of the long table, drawing out a chair and taking a seat to face Alaric. I darted my eyes at both of them, Alaric’s eyes clashing with mine and flashing a smile at me while I replied by rolling my eyes. Alaric stood up as I walked towards the table, pulling out the chair beside him for me before I got to him. With a mournful smile, I walked past him toward the centre and took my seat. “I see that you have something to say, Alaric.” Asher started. Alaric nodded at me with tight lips, pulling the chair back inside before retaking his seat. He leaned down to his chair, “Yes. Yes. I have something to say.” He answered as he took his eyes off me. My eyes went to Asher, who was looking closely at his brother, and at that moment, it seemed as if they were both fighting a silent battle, and I was not involved. They kept gawking at each other, leaving me to keep glancing at who would start what they had to say or what Alaric wanted to say. “Hmm.” I cleared my throat, gathering both of their attention. Alaric glanced at me before tapping his fingers on the table, “We both know that Audrey is our mate. And she has feelings that are so strong for you, and that’s why she’s kissing you hopelessly without even caring for my feelings.” “Knowing all of this, I have quickly thought about everything. Why would my Princess love my brother so much without even paying me any attention? Am I a beast? The great Alaric Nightshade, whom ladies would kill each other to be with, is now being rejected,” The rest of his talks drowned off my ears, making me sigh hopelessly, which, according to him, was the second hopeless thing I was doing. I was pulled off my thoughts by Asher’s words, earning a small laugh out of me. “Can’t you just go straight to the point, Alaric? In case you have nothing to do, I have plenty of things to do–” “And so do I–” I butted in. “And what do you have to do, princess?” Alaric replied, facing me. Asher dragged the chair out, standing up instantly and making Alaric do the same. At that moment, I felt butterflies in my stomach, coursing at the power Asher held. Alaric did the same because he had something to say just because he stood up. “Five minutes, Alaric. That’s all I can spare.” “Of course, brother. The pack needs you so much well.” Alaric taunted. At one stern look from Asher, he started talking, “Audrey is my mate too, and although she bears some hatred for me, she is still my mate, and I feel attracted to her. So, I want us to come to a deal.” I looked at Asher, expecting a response or body language saying he did not want to hear the deal, let alone accept it, but he just stood there, looking at Alaric and waiting for him to continue. “If I call her, I want her to answer. If I want her, I want her to answer. If you can kiss her, I also have the right to kiss her. If you f**k her, I have the right to f**k her too. And if I ever want to go out with her–” He turned to me at this point, his gaze peering straight into my eyes, “I want her always to answer. She has no right to decline any of my invitations. I won’t beat or force her to do what she doesn’t want, but she has no right to decline my invitation.” He ended up facing Asher afterward. I turned my gaze back to Asher, waiting for his response. His gaze was on the table, his fingers tapping the same way Alaric’s was tapping before on the table. “Is that all?” Asher questioned. Alaric nodded back at him in response, “Alright then. You have a right, so it’s fine.” “Wait!” I yelled out. I stood up from the chair instantly, glancing between them, “I don’t agree to any of this: I am not a pawn you can throw around.” I blurted out. “You’re not a pawn, Audrey,” Asher responded. At that point, I wished he could have called me Princess or any other pet name. Or maybe Alaric could have been the one to call out my name. It would have been better than how my name made me feel coming out of his mouth. “Then what is this? I sleep with both of you because you’re my mate. I told you once, Alaric, and I would tell you–” “You don’t feel anything for me, and you want Asher. Yes, you’ve told me that, Audrey. And I didn’t say anything about it. All I said was I have my wolf and myself to settle. Answer my call when I go into heat, and make me feel something good. Simple!” Before I could say something else, Asher walked towards me, placing both hands on my shoulders as his comforting gaze settled in mine. “Audrey…” “Princess..” I wanted to correct him. “Just for the main time till we get through this. And you don’t have to put up again. Do this for me, okay? And let’s send him off to bed.” He added, smiling at me. The moon goddess took her time making his features, how his lips curled up, and his eyes twinkled with a little smile. Gosh, it made me want to touch his face and trace the lines on his face, “Audrey…” “Princess..” I thought again. “Of course. Just for you, Asher.” I muttered back. I heard a scoff from Alaric’s mouth, but I was too busy to answer him. Asher leaned and pressed his lips on my forehead, patting my shoulders before leaving the room. Like always, I turned and watched him walk out, his broad shoulders moving with him at every step, giving me a sense of fulfilment and adoration. “I still can’t believe that this perfect human is mine.” My wolf muttered in me. “Finally! Just us!” Alaric breathed out, interrupting my business again. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before turning to look at him, folding my hands to my chest. “Princess, come here.” He ordered. One of my brows went up, my eyes widening in awe as I eyed him, “Why should I? Your little rule doesn’t start this night, does it?” He squinted his eyes, reshaping his whole face into another level of handsomeness, “I think that’s what Asher meant when he said you should agree. It starts tonight, Princess.” “I have to sleep...So–“ “Come here, princess.” He cut me off. I hissed and turned my back to him, proceeding to leave my room when he suddenly whooshed at me, slamming my back hard against the wall. “Ahh..” I groaned out in pain. “You should always listen to me, princess.” His tone was rough, not the playful Alaric, but serious. His finger trailed on my face, swiping against my lips and towards my neck, his eyes sweeping every part his finger followed. I gulped down, unable to take my eyes away from his focused gaze. “Do you know how badly I want to touch you?” He muttered. “Do you know how badly I want to punish you for the words you’ve said today? Loving my brother, asking me to find my mate, you won’t even pay me a glance. Do you know how much I want to pin you in my bed and punish you for everything you’ve said and done?” I gulped down, his voice sending shivers to every part of me. “The more you talk, Audrey, if it’s to taunt me, punish me, make me feel like I’m the unluckiest mate alive, makes me want to touch you more. My body craves you. My wolf longs for you.” He inched closer to my face, breathing me in. Slowly, he lingered on my neck, starting with slow kisses and sucking my skin. I clenched both my jaw and thigh, trying hard not to moan out to his touch. My fist was clenched beside me, watching him touch me without being able to do anything. “You want me to, Audrey, admit it.” He mumbled amidst sucking my neck. His hands started to roam around my body, touching my breasts, cupping them up, and making me close my eyes intensely. “The better you admit that, Audrey…” he started before pausing to look at me. “The easier all this goes for us.” He finished. He pulled away from me, his hands at his back as he smiled at me, “Until the day you admit that, I will keep taunting you, Princess. Have a good night.”
