A KISS FOR ASHER

1594 Words
Asher's POV I thought the kiss would work. Leaning to kiss the back of her fingers, I thought fingers would work. But at least I got a sweet smile from her. As I led her to the table, only one thought stayed in my mind, and that was that she was gorgeous. The desire I've seen in Alaric's eyes, everything was starting to make sense. I could sense her nervousness, but I could not say anything to stop that, so I didn't bother. With a sweet smile plastered to my face, I pulled out the chair for her as she took her seat before walking to mine. I had figured she might be hungry since Alaric cut the breakfast short, and I didn't see her eating much last night, so I set this up . I had just some hours to spare this morning since my pack meeting won't happen till afterward, and I've decided to get to know her. After all her loving speech, this was the least I could do for her. "Well, I figured you might be hungry, so why not prepare this?" I said, meeting her eyes and hoping to lighten up the atmosphere. I clenched my jaw and fist at the nervous smile I got back from her, sitting opposite her. I managed to throw her another smile before taking off the lid used to cover the food. She was clearly avoiding me or avoiding meeting my eyes. Even as I poured the wine into the cup, I could see her from the corner of my eyes how she kept on taking in the whole garden, as if she was not done with the beauty. "Since when did you start planning all this?" She finally said, her voice meek and gentle. I felt the urge to roll my eyes but bit it back, casually looking at her with my gentle smile, "Since Alaric called you inside. I knew my idiotic brother wouldn't let you meet for breakfast again." I said, rolling my eyes before continuing. "I hope you're not angry by that. Alaric can be…very demanding sometimes." "It's nothing." She said abruptly. I squinted at her, my eyes taking a full swing to judge her. It was as if the mention of Alaric's name had pulled her into a whole tense mode, taking her from staring and taking in the garden to staring at her fingers. I pressed my lips into a thin line, clenching and clenching my jaw as I leaned into the chair I was sitting on. My eyes stayed on her, watching the way she was so focused on those hands of hers. I closed my eyes soon, begging the moon goddess to give me more patience to figure out everything that was going on. "Would you like us to go for a walk instead?" "Anything you want, Asher." She looked up, our eyes clashing again before she diverted it. I nodded to myself, standing up from the chair instantly, and stretched my hand towards her. She took it and stood up, her eyes quickly clashing with money before she averted it again. "Audrey, none of this would work if you keep shying away from me," I said gently. She looked up at me, her brown orbs staring straight into mine. I entwined my fingers with her trembling own, managing to put the best of my smile on my face as we both stared at each other. Everything seemed to stop at that moment, leaving just me and her. She was so pretty, those lashes of hers, her pointed nose, and those f*****g painted lips of hers. Everything about her face was so stunning. I could feel my world pheromones bulging in me, my insides rolling over and pushing me to do more, to touch her face or just lean in and place my lips on hers. "f**k, Audrey.." I cursed out and rolled my eyes upward as she bit her lips, stretching them into a thin line. My middle finger quickly stopped her from looking down again, raising her head to bring her eye to mine again. "You know, Audrey, I feel attracted to you." I started, closing the space between us. I released the hand I was holding, snaking it around her waist to pull her closer to me. I could feel how tense she was or her nervousness still getting the best of her, but none of it was my concern. She was doing things to me, making me want to do something back to her. "I want to kiss you. Can I kiss you?" "The great Asher asking for a kiss from someone when he could have forcefully taken it." My wolf teased. Her slight nod seemed to snap the last of what held me back, pushing my wolf to the back of my head as I leaned close to her lips. I clenched my jaw as my lips touched hers, every dead desire burning wild at that moment. It stayed like that for a while before I bit her lips and gained entrance into her mouth. - Audrey's POV Asher was kissing me! Nope! Asher asked to kiss me! It felt like something I'd dreamed of that was now finally happening, and yet I had no idea on what to do. "Do something before he changes his mind!" My wolf screamed at me as I shyly nodded my head. And his hand was around my waist, his thumb slowly stroking my back. Asher f*****g Nightshade was kissing me. The man I've always dreamt of every night was kissing me. The man who stood so handsomely in front of my father, smiling carefully at him and making my insides melt, was kissing me. As he placed his lips on mine, I didnt know whether to move, kiss him back, or even do anything. I was waiting, waiting for him to do something, spank me, touch me, do something to me. And just when my patience was running thin, and I was about to grab his face to kiss him back, he bit my lips. My insides melted as he did that, snaking his lower lips in as he slowly sucked my upper lips. His mouth was so close to mine, moving dangerously. His other hand started to move on my back, stroking every part of me as he kissed me hungrily. Our mouths were moving delicately on each other in a passionate dance, as if he had wanted to do it for a long time and was now glad he had gotten it. He was the first to break the kiss, taking two steps away from me with his eyes on me. "That was…" he started. I looked away with a full smile, my hands clasped at my back, dancing joyfully like a baby who just won her favorite toy. "I hoped that helped ease your nervousness." He cut in. All the butterflies swarming my belly died down instantly as he walked past me, pulling out the chair for me and stretching his hand with a generous smile. I gulped down as I took my seat back, looking at him expectantly as he took his seat. "Do you want to eat now?" He asked, I opened my mouth to say something, to ask what he meant by kissing me out of nervousness, but those eyes of his and the grin on his face threw those words back into my stomach, churning them up and releasing them with a long stomach growl. Our eyes met before he chuckled, looking at my belly and face before deepening into another chuckle. "I knew Alaric would stress you out. What did he do when you went into the room? What did he ask you?" My whole body went tense at his words, the event of Alaric in the morning rushing down like something I knew too well. He kissed me, arched my back, and kept fueling me. His hands stroked every part of me, touching me, even with his kiss, made me want more. "Nothing. He just talked, asked me about you and when I knew you and all sort of." I lied, picking up my fork as we proceeded to eat. "And what did you tell him?" He questioned back without raising his eyes to look at me. I shrugged, eyeing him from the corner of my eye with my fork right in front of my mouth, "I told him you were my father's most trusted advisor, and that's how I fell for you." I replied and brought the fork into my mouth, chewing the food with the spit of my lies. He looked at me, eyes squinted and roaming on my face. He opened his mouth as if to say something and closed it back. Before I could ask him what was going on, his eyes snapped forward, comprehensive and alert, as some guards rushed in, "Your attention is needed, Your Highness." They said, He nodded at them before looking at me again, standing from his chair and hurriedly kissing my lips, "I have to leave now, Audrey. I'll see you in the evening." He didn't even wait for my feedback before rushing out, leaving me and the beautiful garden alone. Every nerve and fiber in my body died down instantly, my back aching to touch the chair as I slumped tiredly on it. Two things were clear: I love Asher Nightshade for this, and even with his attitude, I seemed to like him more. "Princess, indeed, I admire the lovely gown you're wearing."
