Alaric’s POV
Fuck! I wish I could sweep her off her feet and take her to my room to f**k her until she moaned out my name. I clenched my jaw hard as her brown orbs kept inviting me in, wanting me to take her right there.
Fuck! The way her throat moved, only if she knew she had the same effect on me as I had on her.
“Hmm…” I continued, wanting to hear her response.
If she said something about not being sure or yes, I swear to the moon goddess, I would lead her right in the face of everyone and take her to the room.
“You can go and f**k yourself.” After a while, she said, her lips turned into a mocking smile as she walked away from me.
I smirked as I watched her leave, my eyes roaming every part of her body. In my thoughts, the things I would love to do to her body. She was the first woman to have that effect on me, or probably because she was my mate.
I couldn’t help but wonder if Asher was feeling that same way about her, wanting to be with her every time, hot for her, wanting to tease her only to see her smile or scowl at her because all of that and more of it was what I feel for her.
I watched as she mixed with the crowd, bowing and greeting most people as they kept clashing with her. A small smile bloomed on my lips, a frail, innocent girl mated to the pack's two bachelors and the Nightshade brothers.
The hate she would get, the abusive words from the ladies that wanted me in their bed or Asher’s, would be a nightmare she wouldn’t want to go through.
A deep growl found its way out of my mouth as Asher grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. Instantly, a blush crept to her face, making me more irritated. Could she not see that I was the better person for her and Asher? I closed my eyes and breathed in.
‘Asher is your brother. You can’t at least be angry at him because of a girl.’
She was more than a girl. She was a girl that drove me insane. In just two days, I’ve felt a lot more emotions than I’ve ever felt in my whole life. How she stared at Asher like he was her prince in distress made my blood boil, and even my wolf growled in anger.
When she said she didn’t want Asher to know we touched each other, I felt like touching my brother’s face and clawing his insides. Every one of her actions affected me, one that if I were not careful, I would be killing my dearest brother soon enough.
A hiss escaped my lips slowly, my jaws becoming more clenched as she laughed at something he had said. I started to approach them, picking glass from the server’s tray and downing the content at a go.
“I didn’t know you had it in you to be so funny, brother.” I started, turning both of their heads to me.
“Alaric…”
“You left me to talk to this douchebag.” I turned to face Audrey, who looked like she could kill me because of interfering.
Deep lines edged my forehead as I pouted at her, placing my right hand on my chest and at the side of my heart, “Princess, I’m hurt.”
“Alaric, how about you go and talk with other people?”
“Why should I be with other people when I can talk to my princess all day?” I cut my dear brother off, glancing at him with a smile.
“My princess?”
A wicked thought crept into my mind as I winked at Audrey. “Didn’t she tell you? I have a pet name for her already. She’s my Princess. Only mine.” I replied to him, my face beaming with smiles, one I didn’t think I had in me.
I watched as the blood drained out of Audrey’s face, glancing back and forth between me and Asher.
“Ahh! I see she didn’t tell you. Well, we met at the party your friend threw. What was his name again?”
“Alaric…” she breathed out
“Callus,” Asher replied.
“Yes.” I nodded, “Callus. She was in such a beautiful princess dress. She looked so pretty in it that I wanted to slam her back against the wall and kiss her senses out. And the way she stared at me, oh...Asher, I wanted to rip the clothes off her.”
“How about you meet the ladies that wanted you so badly? All this your acts won’t get you anything with me. Like I said, I want Asher, not you.”
The anger I had managed to subdue oozed out again at her words. Our eyes clashed against each other, and the corner of her lips went up in a victorious smile, warning me that she’d continue stabbing me with her words if I didn’t get out.
“I don’t want you, Alaric. I barely even know you. You’re trying so hard. So hard in this.”
“I’m your mate. You can’t tell me you don’t feel something, anything for me. I remember how much you were–”
“I feel nothing for you, Alaric Nightshade. If you would love me to repeat it, I like your brother, not you. So I feel nothing, absolutely nothing for you.”
My whole body went stiff with her words. It was bad enough during her confession about Asher, saying it in front of the entire pack with no shame. I didn’t care much about that because she might have said it only to push me further, but hearing it now felt different. It was like a blow to my heart, rendering me useless and stupid. It was the first time a lady declined the invite of the great Alaric Nightshade.
I gulped in, nodding at her with hurt eyes, glancing at my brother and meeting his gaze that seemed peering at me. I stared at him hard and intensely, lots of murderous thoughts roaming in my head.
I sniffed in the cold air, breaking our heated gaze and turning to face Audrey, “Very well. Enjoy your night drinking and laughing at his boring jokes, Princess.”
I turned away from her instantly, striding out as fast as possible. I was angry, more than angry. And if I didn’t leave, I would do things I ought not to do and ruin things between Asher and me, which could make Audrey even hate me more.
“Follow me,” I said to a lady.
Her squeal brought out instant disgust in me, but I had to relieve myself. To get her away from my brain and find something else worth doing. If she didn’t want me, it was her loss, not mine. I was far better than Asher, both in handsomeness and in bed. I climbed the stairs quickly, found an empty room, and walked inside.
“Your Highness…”
My face scrunched more in absolute irritation at the sound of her voice. It was nothing like Audrey’s, and the sound of it made me want more of it in my room. It was soft and meek, and Audrey's voice was more of a challenge that dared me, excited me so much, and turned me on.
“Lock the door.” I started.
She giggled softly, bolting the door instantly. “Come here.”
I hissed deep in me as she leaped towards me with her hands folded to her front. She stood in front of me, her whole face pancaked horribly.
“Would you like me to pleasure you, take anything off your mind?” She said,
I stood up and hissed. I couldn’t even say if her voice annoyed me, how she acted, or how everything about Audrey got imprinted in my brain, and no other woman looked the same.
“Did I offend you, your highness?” She asked, fear in her voice.
I looked at her with pure disgust, her green eyes infuriating me the more. Who the f**k even dress her up? Wearing a stupid princess gown with pink nails and green eyes for her? Were they so blind?
“Get out.”
“What?”
“I said get out! Or would you like me to claw it to your face!” I growled at her.
She scrambled out instantly, opening the door and slamming it close, leaving me and my hot body in the bright room. I fell back to the bed, running my hand through my hair as I closed my eyes.
Even with my eyes closed, she was the only thing I could see: her smile, eyes, smell, and soft and pink n*****s pointing at me.
“f**k!” I cursed out, throwing my curled-up fist onto the bed.
I had to know why she had this effect on me, and even after her numerous declines, I still could not get her out of my head.
I stood up from the bed as my feet moved swiftly towards the door. If she wanted a battle between Asher and me, I would dearly give her as long as I get to touch her one more time and forever.
