I was informed through a brief email to wait in Mr. Lancaster's office while I was In the bathroom rinsing the shock off my face, if rinsing your eyes with water to erase the recollection of events you just took in was real, it would have come in handy. The ice-cold water I used to wash my face off did nothing but mess up the natural makeup look Joan had me wear this morning. I had forgotten all about it like it was not disappointing enough that I had missed my appointment. The loads of effort I put into the way I looked today turned out to be a waste.
Saying I looked awful was an understatement, I began wiping out the patches of makeup that was now running down my face, nearly messing up the cream blouse that probably cost as much as my tuition fees. The amount of frustration and anger I was feeling could wipe out the whole building. I stole another glance at myself from the large mirror not believing the sight in front of me, I began to fix a few strands of my hair that had fallen out of the sleek ponytail I wore my outfit was starting to look crusty, and wrinkled I tried to fix it but it only got worse.
I stared at the screen of my phone, re-reading the untruthful statement I just received. There has been a change in the venue due to unforeseen circumstances. Did they send that knowing I was fully aware it was a whole bunch of lies? It was far much better than the truth, the irony of receiving an email whose contents were "There has been a slight change in the venue because the boss couldn't keep it in his pants at work."
Making myself comfortable on the black leather couch that was placed in the middle of the large modern office space, my overthinking self wondered whether he had done things other than sitting on the coach I was comfortably sitting on the couch
Everything was neatly placed. There was a large family photo of him, his ex-wife, and his son that graced the walls. It caught my attention almost immediately. They looked so bright and happy it left me wondering so many things. It was bold of him to keep a frame of his ex-wife despite the nasty breakup that he practically caused.
Sitting on a comfortable surface for over thirty minutes made me a little bit drowsy, I yawned a few times there wasn't much to look at the interior of the room bored me to death nothing was interesting not that an office was supposed to be an entertainment space it's just everything is modern and dull like an endless abyss. Another email was sent informing me to be just a little bit patient as Mr Lancater is running a little bit late. The excitement I was feeling about the fact I landed this job had faded away much quicker than I thought it would. All I was left with was irritation and despise for how unprofessional this place was. It was a mess if I didn't need the money so badly I would have left the minute I walked into three naked bodies
The buzz of my phone notifying me I had two new followers on one of my socials sounded In the deadly quiet room, I kept myself company by scrolling through my socials if I didn't find something to distract myself quickly I was going to fall asleep on my boss' coach that would be the worst first impression to make, it would be so weird the thought of it happening made me cringe, a video of a cat playing with a ball of yarn popped on my for you page I couldn't help but giggle the cat was too cute I had a cat obsession I promised myself the moment I started working at a stable job and got myself an apartment I would adopt a cat from the shelter on eleventh street.
I couldn't take any more of the waiting. My eyelids were starting to feel heavy as the minutes passed by. I placed my head on the armrest of the chair

The shed of my cheeks was tinted in a rosy shed of pink as I sat on the couch in the office. I opened my eyes slightly, and Mr. Lancaster was seated at his desk consumed by the pile of paperwork on his desk
I was so embarrassed but tried my best to mask it up, but I obviously couldn't beat Mr. Lancaster, he had returned to his office fully clothed and put together like the s*x in the conference room never even happened. He maintained eye contact as he greeted me and asked me to open up the files, the blonde whose name I had just figured was BethAnne handed me in the lobby.
I looked at everything in the office but him, barely getting a thing he was saying. All I could think about was going back to the apartment so I could process what just happened, I couldn't help but think was this normal? I hurriedly read through the contents of the documents, tried my best to thoroughly read them, but couldn't care less. I needed this job and didn't care what the consequences were. I wasn't in the position to be picky with what I did or didn't suit my personal preferences like any of my wealthy friends.
Before Mckenzie got her position here, she quit her previous job because they didn't have eco-friendly cups in the lounge.
