I have to meet Maxwell tonight. Even though I tried pretending I wasn’t bothered, the truth is simple I’m nervous. That man gives off a strange, unsettling feeling I can’t ignore.
I don’t know what he wants with me, and the uncertainty keeps twisting in my stomach like a tight knot.
He already ruined our Friday dinner yesterday, showing up at the exact moment I was about to enjoy my time with Nancy. But I’m not letting him win again.
If anything, today I’ll make it even clearer to him where I stand. He needs to understand that Nancy is already loved, already cared for, already someone’s priority. And I won’t let him or anyone else break what we have.
