“You look absolutely beautiful, baby girl,” Suzie says, beaming as she adjusts the veil on my hair.
Her voice is full of excitement, and honestly, I can barely contain mine. After everything we’ve gone through, after every tear, every struggle, every joyful moment,today is the day. My wedding day. The day I have dreamed about for years.
It’s true that it didn’t happen exactly the way we had originally planned, but I am genuinely happy. Everyone around me is happy too, and I can feel the excitement in the air like soft music.
Most of you already knew I wanted to get married right after I was dismissed from school, right after giving birth to my little boy. I had planned it all out. But somehow, life pushed us gently in another direction.
