I straightened my gown for the third time, my fingers quivering slightly as I heard Caleb's footsteps echoing down the corridor. The office had been unoccupied for more than an hour and I had been waiting since then for Caleb.. I could have just gone home since he didn't come out of his office early but somehow, I stayed back, pretending I had some work to finish up. I guess it was just polite to wait.
