Demetrius sighed through the phone. "You're right, but I don't like it one bit, Erick," he said.
"I know, Dee, I don't either, but I would risk my life for Amber," he stated. "She is special and anyone who meets her can see that. I will die before I let Jerome, or anyone else, hurt her."
"I think I can speak for the whole royal family when I say it is very much appreciated," Demetrius said. "Just promise not to tell her anything about our part until it's time."
"Mum's the word," Erick said. They exchanged a few more pleasantries before hanging up. Demetrius was impressed with Erick's level of devotion. He didn't know the girl that well, and yet he was willing to die to protect her.
