Lord Hunter
Nico, also known as Lord Hunter, is the ruler of his vampire coven. He also is a Lord, and came from a long line of Lords that goes back at least hundreds of years. He was a stern, fair ruler. Currently, a rebellion rose up in his coven by Lord Evingston. Lord Evingston was cruel, harsh, and deadly. He was also adept at lying and luring in the naive who believe he would grant them anything they wish. However, a capable ruler cannot always give the people whatever whims suit them. He must be fair, balanced, and do what is best for the coven and the people in it. Sometimes people do not understand they can't always get what they want. Lord Evingston took advantage of this and brought people to his side with promises of anything they ask for. This is something he can't, and won't, deliver in reality. Lord Hunter knows this.
One day, the rebels stormed the castle and chased Lord Hunter out of his own home and running for his life into the woods. They started shooting at him, trying to assassinate him like Lord Evingston obviously instructed them to do. This crime merits a punishment of death, yet the people overlooked this fact and chased him, shooting at him anyways. One of those shots hit him right through the shoulder. He collapsed against a tree and slid down it, sitting on the ground bleeding. It was only a matter of time before they found him and finished the job. Suddenly, an angel appeared. An incredible, raving beauty, with striking blue eyes, long, wavy, silken brown hair, and the most beautiful body appeared before him. She smelled like vanilla and spring flowers. Her scent was intoxicating to him. He knew the second he saw her that this was his Companion. His Destined One. Just as werewolves usually get one Mate, vampires get one Destined One, a companion that is bound by love for all eternity. They can tell right away when they find theirs. And, he knew without a doubt that the angel from the forest was his. He also could smell that she was a werewolf. Werewolves an vampires are mortal enemies. Foes for thousands of years. The High Council will never allow this. And, that is if he ever finds her again.
After she bandaged his wound, she planned to take him back to her pack to be treated. They won't treat him. They would kill him. She must have never come in contact with a vampire before, because she didn't recognize his scent. So, he ran. He had to leave the love of his life. He didn't know why she left, but she said she'd be right back. He used that opportunity to leave, despite how he hated to go. He didn't even know her name.
He went to the cottage of an old witch who was a friend of his. Her cabin wasn't far from where he was. She removed the bullet and sutured his wound, then bandaged him up. "This bullet is cursed. It's made to kill vampires. That's why it made you bleed so heavily," said the witch.
"Thank you, Hedda. You saved my life, again," Nico said. A year ago, a group of werewolves attacked him and his friend that he was walking with. They ripped apart his best friend, Tommy. Nico, they clawed across his chest. He still bears the scar. Every since then, he has carried the most intense animosity toward werewolves. Now, he is in love with one.
After he was hurt, he ran. Hedda was in the woods gathering ingredients for spells. She saw the wolves coming to tear Nico apart. She said, "dilacerant" and the wolves arms and legs ripped off their bodies. They died instantly from the blood loss and trauma. She saved Nico's life. Ever since then, they have been friends.
Hedda offered him some tea and said, "Here, this will help you heal, Lord Hunter."
"I always tell you, you can call me Nico. No need for formalities between us," he said.
"Very well, Nico it is," she replied as she sat the cup of tea in front of him. She then sat in the chair next to him and asked, "So, what is new with you. I sense a change. Something or someone new just entered your life."
"Entered and left. I found my Destined One and lost her," he said as he hung his head in despair.
"I can do a locater spell," she suggested.
"No, it doesn't matter. She is a werewolf. The High Council would never approve of her and that is if she even accepted me, which she won't," Nico lamented.
"Now, now, you don't know all that. Let me at least locate her. Then, you can proceed from there. Find her. Maybe she won't care you are a vampire. And, when have you ever let the High Council dictate you when you were sure of what was right," she said as she gathered candles and a scrying mirror. She then little candles and stared intensely in the mirror. She then said, "Your love is in The Wood River Pack." She then got up and grabbed a vial from her shelf an handed it to him and said, "This will mask your scent so the other wolves won't know you're a vampire. Go get your love. A Destined One is so rare to find, you can't just let her go because there are a couple of hurdles."
"Thank you Hedda. You have always been a true friend. If you ever need anything, know that I am here for you," he declared.
"I know Nico. You are a good man. I will always be a loyal friend to you, I swear," she vowed. "Truly good people are not always easy to find."
"I try my best to be a righteous man and always do what is good and fair. I am devoted to that," he assured her.
