Lord Nico
Lord Nico was beside himself with terror knowing his beloved Lyla has been kidnapped by that Scoundrel, Evingston. He could barely focus, he just loved her so much and the immense horror of her being taken was overwhelming him emotionally. This is what he wants, me unable to focus. I have to clear my head and concentrate if I am to save her, he thought. He had to wait for the men to return, either with her or at least the location of where she was taken.
His Personal Guard stepped into his office because the door was open, bowed, and said, "How are you holding up?"
"Truthfully, I'm a mess without her. All my mind can think about is getting her back and throttling Lord Evingston for daring to touch my beloved Companion. But, I have to hold it together and keep in control. Everything inside of me want to march into the woods blindly and look, but I'll never find her that way," he answered.
"Just hold in there, we will get her back," said Benton. Just then, two guards came in with a squirrely sort of man, dressed up, but sweaty. He could tell he had been running.
"We found this man at the front gates. He had no weapons on him. He said he had a message for you from Lord Evingston," said the guard.
"Well, what is it?" asked Lord Nico.
"Lord Evingston has your Companion. He says to abdicate your throne by the end of the week or he will kill her," said the little man.
"Throw him in the dungeon. You serve an enemy of the Coven and for that you are arrested!" exclaimed Lord Nico. The guards bowed and then drug the man away.
"We will know the location soon. Then, we rescue her. Lord Evingston does not have a week to even live," said Lord Nico to Benton.
The two of them continued to talk about logistics of the coming war when a guard came in, bowed, and announced, "We have returned, Lord Nico. We know where he has her. We would of rescued her right away, but we were immensely outnumbered. We wouldn't of survived and we figured you needed that location."
"Smart. You are right. Tell the men to rest tonight, because we go to war in two days," said Lord Nico. "You are dismissed." The guard bowed and left. "Benton, go find the Messenger and tell him to go to the werewolf pack and tel them to arrive here, in the morning, in two days to go to war. We have Lord Evingston's location."
"I will relay the message," said Benton as he turned and left. A wave of relief rolled over Lord Nico. Soon, he would have his Companion back. Soon, she would be in his arms again.
The two days dragged on. Every second without her was bleeding his very soul. He needed her and waiting was agony without her. He knew that if anything ever happened to her that he would surely die. He spent the two days training and readying the men. He told General Ford, "When the wolves arrive, I want every man armed now that our shipment came in to replace the weapons we lost in the fire. We surround them and attack from the outside in. Once every rebel is dead, I want Lord Evingston brought to me. I want the pleasure of killing that Rat Feces myself. Then, we search for my Companion. I want her saved and brought to me," ordered Lord Nico.
General Ford bowed and said, "It will be done. I have been preparing the men for the war and they are ready to annihilate the enemy completely."
"That's great. That's what I want to hear," said Lord Nico.
The morning of the second day, the wolves arrived. Alpha Bryer said, "Good job in finding that wretched gnat. Now, we can squash him like the bug he is. My soldiers are ready for all out war and have been training for years for such an event as this is."
"With your help, it will be more than an event, it will be a slaughter. Our first objective is to wipe out the rebels protecting Evingston. Our second objective is to bring him to me so I may savor slicing his skull in two. Our third and most important objective is to find my Companion and bring her to me," expalined Lord Nico.
Alpha Bryer sighed at the thought of bringing his love, Lyla, to another man. But, she chose him. What can he do? He loved her to much to try to force her. He knew he had to respect her decision no matter how much agony it put him in. She came first.
"Soldiers, you are about to embark on a task of most importance. You must eradicate the rebels and bring me their leader, Lord Evingston. Once, they are all dead, locate my Companion, Lyla, and bring her to me. They have many warriors, but we have far more. By combining our forces, we are stronger and unstoppable. The longer teeth and claws and greater strength and size of the werewolves combined with our speed and cunning, we are impossible to defeat. We will be victorious today!" announced Alpha Nico to all the men. The men cheered loudly, raising their weapons into the air. "Now move out!" And, all the warriors began marching out, moving through the woods, with the soldiers who had previously located Lord Evingston's Lair, Lord Nico, and Alpha Bryer in the lead.
They moved through the woods for many hours, but no one was tired or weary from the long journey, they were fueled on spirit and conviction. They were determined to win and knew that they would be triumphant! Onward, they marched and marched for hours. "We are getting close," said the ones who knew the location. They ceased marching and began to move stealthily through the forest as they approached the compound and began to surround it.
