After what seemed like forever, the train began to speed up and shot out of the station, leaving the two men in suits behind. Ella finally sucked in air, leaning back in her seat and trying to get her heart to stop beating out of her chest.
“We lost them for now,” Rome said, taking her hand in his. “But this isn’t over yet.”
“I know. Do you think your dad will have people waiting for us when we get to the next station?”
“It’s a very real possibility. If he thinks there’s a good chance that I’m the one on this train, then, yeah, he won’t stop until he has me back under his lock and key.”
