I went to follow Lucas and Riven grabbed my arm “Oh no you don’t,” he said “Riven he is my best friend I have to see him,”

I felt guilty not resolving our quarrel before I slept, I never have fallen asleep on an argument with Lucas before.

“It will be ok sweetheart” Riven Said sensing my guilt. we headed inside and Riven showed off his cooking skills by making me the best steak! We went upstairs to our room, I looked around, and I noticed that a lot of my stuff was here

I laid my head on his chest and fell asleep

I wake up in the morning and I watched Riven sleep so peaceful is auburn lashes catches the light perfectly. it was nice seeing him like this but today has to be about Lucas! I missed him and I wanted all the goss behind Emily, so I reached out to mind link him ‘good morning Bestie are you in a better mood this morning?’

‘Hey Darcy I’m ok,’ he responded

As I walk out of the door I crossed Emily “hey Emily” I said

she smiled and looked a little apprehensive before speaking “hey Darcy, I hate to you ask you this but is Lucas going to reject me?”

“What? Why would you think that?” I have known our whole lives Lucas always wanted his mate he would never reject you” I answered almost shocked at her fear

“I know I sound insecure, but I always thought my mate would never want to leave my side, yet I have hardly seen him”

“I’m happy to ask him knowing Lucas he just wants it to be special, he can be sentimental like that,” I assured her

I got home as I walked into the door mum and dad huddled around me welcoming me home.

I missed them “so the Beta is your mate? nice work love” mum added

“My relationship with Emily is none of your business, Darcy!” He shouted, “Oh and my relationship with Riven is your Lucas!” I roared back

“He doesn’t deserve you!” Lucas shot back!

“It’s not about deserving it’s about the goddess picking our mate you know that!”

“Well she is wrong it should have been us! I thought meeting my mate would squash my love for you.” He fired at me, I stood there shocked I knew we loved each other but when I met Riven, it was different it was consuming! I walked over and hugged Lucas “Lucas I know you love me and I love you but trust me when I tell you need to open yourself up to Emily! she will be everything you dream of. I think you’re devotion to protecting me is not allowing you to fully accept your mate”.
