Chapter 12

The next morning, Rose was the first to wake up. When she got up, she felt a heavy weight on her, and when she turned around, she found Rayan lying next to her. He was fast asleep with his hands around her. She just starred at him and smiled as memories from last night flashed on her mind.

"Guess I really misunderstood him. He's not really that bad if not for the fact that he's a jerk."

She got out of the room and went downstairs, where she met Jacob. He was cleaning up.

"Good morning, mam," he greeted

"Good morning. I thought you were the gate man. Why are you cleaning up? " she asked

"Well, I'm actually the caretaker," he said, and she nodded

"Please excuse me. I have to go prepare breakfast before the boss wakes up."

"Ooh, you don't have to," she said, and he raised his brows

"Why?" he asked

"I will do the cooking."

"But you're a guest,"

"I don't mind," she insisted on cooking

"Ok, then I will help you." He gave up,

"Ok," she smiled at him.

The two of them went to the kitchen.

"What does Rayan love for breakfast?" she asked

"Noodles, mam."

"Ok, now let's get started,"

She got all the ingredients and started cooking. Jacob was amazed. She's the first girl that had ever cooked for his boss. Most of the girls Rayan brought home were lazy and mean, not forgetting rude and arrogant.

"Seems like you love to cook alot mam" Jacob said.

"Yeah... I love cooking,"

"That's nice, mam." he smiled,

"You should call me Rose. I'm not used to people calling me, mam. It sounds old, " she said, and he looked at her.

"Won't that be rude?"

"Of course not and bedside you're older than me,"

"Ok, mam....uhn I mean Rose"

Rose looked at him and smiled. When she got through cooking, she served Jacob and gave him his food.

"Wow, all this for me," he asked, smiling

"Yeah, you should go and eat after you're done. Bring the dirty plate so I can wash it, " she said

"You're so generous you must be tired. I will wash the dishes. "

"You don't have to. I can do it, " she refused

"I insist,"

"Ok, thanks ,"

"You're welcome. I will leave now, " he said

"Alright."

After Jacob left. She took a bowl and dished out Rayan's meal. She later took it to the dining table.

"It's set. What do I need, uhmm....water and juice... yeah, water and juice. "

She brought two glasses, one for the water and the other for the juice. She was about to empty the water in the glass cup, when She felt two hands around her waist. His smell filled her nose, so sweet, which made her smile

"Sneaking on people is not a good habit," she said, and he chuckled.

"Sorry teacher....good morning " Rayan said, and she looked at him

"What?" he asked

"Nothing."

He took his seat. He's wearing a net shirt and a black pair of short trousers.

"What a girlfriend material, you even cook for me." He said

"Was I not supposed to cook?"

"No offence, I'm just kidding," he chuckled

"Better be," she rolled her eyes

"Anger issues," he muttered and started eating.

"Wow, the food is nice. You cook well, " he muttered, chewing the food.

"Thanks. I will go and shower now, " she said and stood up

"Are you leaving soon?" he asked

"Am I supposed to stay here forever?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"I only came here because you were sick," she said, and he pouted.

"But I'm still sick,"

"Liar," she spank his head, and he laughed

"My dad will leave for work at 9, and I need to see him before he leaves for work," she explained

"Daddy's girl," he squirk

"Uhmm, Daddy's boy,"

"I'm not."

"I know," she said sarcastically and went upstairs to shower.

After a few minutes, Jacob walked in.

"Good morning, sir."

"Good morning. Have you eaten breakfast already?" he asked,

"Yeah, sir, my new madam is nice and caring," Jacob said, and Rayan looked at him

"Really, you two have already talked,"

"Yeah. I even helped her make breakfast. "

"Okay, thanks for helping her," Rayan said

"It's my job, sir,"

After Rayan got through eating, he went upstairs. At that time, Rose was already fixing her hair.

"I thought you were done already," he said

"Yes, I am. I'm just fixing my hair. " she looked at her hair in the mirror,

"I'm done now. Just need my bag. " she took her bag and her phone.

"I will leave now," she said, facing him

"Thanks for coming. Your presence means a lot. "

"You're welcome. See you tomorrow. Make sure you show up.

"I will,"

"Ok, then I will leave now,"

She was about to go when he stopped her.

"You forgot something," he said and moved closer to her.

"Really did I. What is it? " she asked, looked around. He held her face in his palm

"Look at me," he said, and she did.

"Tell what did I forget about," she asked, and he smiled

"Rayan, are you pulling my....

She didn't complete her words when he crashed his lips on her. The kiss was unexpected, and Rose didn't even know how to react. Rayan hands dropped to her waist as he used his tongue to explore her mouth. This is their second kiss, unlike the first one, which was rough and short. This one ,it's tender, and the way Rayan was kissing, it's like his whole entire life depended on that kiss.

Rose didn't kiss him back. It's not like she didn't want to, but he already broke the kiss before she could react. After he broke the kiss, he studied her face to see any form of anger or regret, but there was none. She was both shocked and shy at the same time.

"I'm sorry," he apologised to at least clear the tense.

"For what?" she looked at him, confused.

"Well, for stealing another kiss. I shouldn't have done that. " he said, and she gave a light chuckled.

She placed her hands on his chest and started to rub it slowly before looking at him again.

"Apologies accepted, but make sure next time to make the moment last long. I don't like short enjoyment. " she smirck at him and walked, leaving Rayan, who stood dumb folded.
