I told Joey everything. I told him how Tyler and Josh looked at me like I was a freak. I told him their silence made me feel like a monster.
Joey’s face went dark. He didn't say a word. He just stood up, zipped his pants, and put his weapon belt back on. His jaw was tight with anger.
"Joey? What’s wrong?" I asked. "Why are you upset?"
He didn't answer me. He just walked out of the cell and slammed the heavy iron door shut.
