Tristan Pov:
Never would I have ever thought she was bold enough to do what she did. Don't get me wrong, I was f*****g fuming with anger while my manhood was paining from the hard kick she gave me. It still hurts, and she was definitely gonna pay for that. No one would ever dare to talk back, let alone pull off her little stunt.
I was impressed, shocked, surprised, angry and hurting all at the same time. Call it for short a mixture of emotions that had swelled up inside me. I mean, I knew she wasn't gonna gift me with "Welcome back, I've missed you..." but I did not ever think she would literally kick me in my f*****g balls.
That was like a slap on my ego, and I couldn't let this slide for nothing. "That was for f*****g with me, you had it coming. Revenge is best served cold..." She said before running off, leaving me groaning in pain on the floor.
"I will f*****g make you pay for this, b***h" I screamed from the room. And what was her response to that? "Yeah, we'll see about that..." She shouted back.
I could make out the amusement in her tone, which made me even eager to avenge her. Hurting and all, I got up and attempted to walk. I tried my best to chase after her at the same speed, but I couldn't help but limp my way down the hall where she sped off to.
I could even hear faint giggles in a distance, and I knew she found all of this amusing and funny. I was even angrier now, causing all types of swear curses and threats to come out my mouth directed personally for her. At that moment, I didn't give a rat's ass who heard me....I just hoped she knew what was coming for her.
Alina Pov:
Every single word that came out of his mouth was like daggers thrown at me, but I wasn't offended by the least, at least not at this moment. I was trying my best to stifle the laughs that dared to burst out and expose my location, or give him a hint I was still in earshot.
My attempts of being quiet were pretty much failed, as I couldn't help myself when I heard him call me some foreign name I've never heard in my life, probably wasn't even real. For all I know, in this heated moment he was having, he probably made the word up.
It would have been offensive to me if this was any other time, but not today. I was giddy like a little kid, and I was practically as loud as one. Somehow I knew he was coming for my direction, which caused me to speed up my pace.
Even as it was turning dark, I could kind of recognize my surroundings. This place was now familiar, even though I've only been at this part of the mansion once. How could I forget the day I got bored, got lost and found myself meeting two adorable kids, and then getting lost again.
I was sure I have been lost so many times because of my curiosity. If you ask me, I was surprised I found my way back every single time. It was easy to get lost, but it's complicated when you're trying to get un-lost.
I kept running, but I got a bit suspicious when I didn't hear his curses that were thrown at me anymore. Why'd he stop? Where was he? Did he know where I was already? So many questions rambled in my head, I could barely think straight.
Well that all changed quickly. Just as fast as I was dazed out by my head full of questions, I was pulled back in when I heard a door open. I stopped in my tracks and looked in the direction. Call me crazy for not running, but like they say....curiosity always seems to kill the cat, in this case, me.
Out of everyone who I would think was in that room, I didn't expect to see the same girl in front of me. How could I forget that cute and brave, not to forget...funny, little girl, Amber-leigh. My smile that was painted on my face only got wider, seeing her. I feared my face would be permanently damaged by the time I was done smiling.
She rubbed her eyes. "Aleana? What are you doing here?" Amber asked in a sleepy voice that made me literally gush. She was too adorable in her pink cupcake pj's.
"Amber? Is that you?" My stupid mouth blurted a little too loud. "Yes, that's me" A grin appeared on her face and it was contagious.
"Hey cutie..."
"Hey....what are you doing here?" She asked again.
My lips were shut tightly. 'What do I say to her?' I asked myself, obviously not getting any response. Should I tell her that I stay here too?
"Oh....um- yeah about that," I started. "I kind of stay here too..."
"You do?" Her eye sockets were wide and it was evident she was shocked and happy about the news I just dropped on her. I hadn't told her when we were talking last time.
"I've never seen you here before....well besides the time we ran into each other outside."
"Yeah" I started fumbling with my fingers nervously. What do I say? My head was trying it's hardest to find something sensible, but it was not easy to decide on the next words.
"I have been living here for some weeks now, on the other side of the house." I stated.
"Oh, no wonder why I've never seen you around," She nodded. "That explains it..."
I shifted and played with my fingers, averting my eyes from her to the ground, and then back up at her. This wasn't good at all.
What will happen if Tristan comes to find me while I'm here? Even worse, what will happen when he finds me here with her? That suddenly became the priority question in my head. Nothing else really mattered at that moment besides that one thought I couldn't shut out.
He never once mentioned any kids living here. Obviously he didn't want me to know about the other parts of the house, or Amber and her brother. No wonder why he never once tried to give me a tour, or skipped this part of the house deliberately.
"What's wrong? You seem anxious about something," Amber asked in a worried tone.
My heart fluttered in my chest at her heartfelt words. How could someone be so adorable? She was so sweet and such a charmer, I was forgetting there were problems. That's how good she was!
"Nothing dear, nothing's wrong" I replied. She didn't believe me, but let it go.
"Okay. Well if I may ask, why are you running?"
"I'm playing hide and seek..." My reply sounded weird, because the truth was basically like "I'm running to save my life," but that's too much information for her.
"With who?" She attempted to raise her brow, but failed.
"Mmmm...no one important" Should I honestly tell her whom or not? Does she even know him, because she never once mentioned him either.
Stupid Alina...how does she not know him when she lives in his house? My subconsciousness scolded me.
"I wanna know!" She pouted adorably. The face she was giving was too cute to turn down, but telling her things could be a real risk.
"I promise I won't tell." She brought forward her pinkie, in an attempt to promise me she wouldn't.
I sighed a little too loudly for my liking. Where was Tristan, and why haven't I heard him by now? I didn't want to get caught without celebrating my victory first.
"Wait let me guess..." She rubbed her chin with her index finger and thumb while her eyes looked around, deep in thought. "Tristan?"
Oh! So after all, she does know him. It sounded weird for her to say his name, but her cute little voice could make anyone sound innocent.
"You guessed right..." I sheepishly said, almost in a whisper.
"Figured so. I thought I heard him somewhere," She innocently said. If she only knew how pissed he was - is...
It was fairly quient besides the voice of me and Amber, which worried me. My head turned in all directions and my eyes scanned throughout the hallways frantically.
"You know him?" I heard her say.
Without looking in her direction, I replied. "Yeah..."
"Oh." her voice seemed lower than it was before. "Psst..."
"Psst..." I heard again, making my head twist in the direction of Amber. When I gave my attention to her, she asked. "Running from him?"
"Erm...something like that." I replied. "Hmm" her head bobbed back and forth cutely, making her already unruly hair move around wildly.
"You should hide in my room," She then said.
My eyes went to the open door of her room. My thoughts were running like a marathon. Should I? I considered the thought quickly.
"Well..." I started to say. There might be a bigger chance he might find me anywhere else, so I guess her room is the best place to hide. "Yeah sure." I gave in.
She smiled proudly and wasted no time to rush me in her room, closing the door behind her. When I walked in, I was surprised by how big her room was.
For her age, she had a huge bedroom. What did you expect though when you live in a mansion? Her room was a cream color of baby pink and grey.
She had a bed that was as big as a queen size bed....which was really shocking. The bed sat in the middle of the huge room. Her covers and sheets were printed with different kid cartoon characters, along with a few different designs.
Her mirror, close by her closet, was almost the size of the long door. Her bathroom was open, giving me a chance to look through it. The sink and floor had elegant marble tiles and she had a cute bathtub that took up almost all the space.
She had matching baby pink led lights that gave the bathroom the color, making it pop. I turned back around and continued to look through her room.
I saw different toys and dolls, as well as painting materials and papers that were caked with different drawings made from crayons, pencils and markers. There was a bookshelf towards the corner of the room, filled with different kid books that she probably read before going to sleep.
She had a kiddy table and chairs that were filled with stuffed animals. It appeared that she was having a tea party with them. She had a pink dresser, and another huge mirror. What a beautiful room she has.
"Your bedroom is perfect," I smiled. "I know...but it's nice to hear from you," She replied.
"Do you share a room with anyone?" I asked her.
"No, the room was designed and decorated just for me," Amber proudly stated.
"Hmmm, that's really nice."
"Can you read to me?" She suddenly blurted out.
"Yes sure...." we went to her bookshelf and I looked through the books.
"Which one do you want me to read to you?" I asked her.
"That one..." She pointed her index finger to one of the books that appeared to be about a princess and a dragon.
"Okay," I grabbed the book and sat at the edge of the bed. She sat down beside me and propped her cute little feet on my lap.
I read to her and we laughed throughout the book. I was still reading the book out to her in the quietest voice I could. I stopped reading and looked down at her, Amber was already asleep. Her head rested on my thigh, her fingers wrapped around my arm as she breathed slowly and her eyes were closed.
I smiled down at the beautiful little girl beside me, who couldn't be more of an angel. Her mother and brother were really blessed with someone like her. She was good company too.
I closed the book and placed it on the bed, and slowly but cautiously got up. I picked her up and placed her at the front of the bed, covering her in the covers so she would stay warm.
Her body moved to the other side, but she was still sleeping soundly, no interruptions whatsoever at all. I kept my gaze on her, just admiring her adorableness.
Once I was positive she wasn't gonna wake up anytime soon, I tip-toed to the door. I hadn't heard from Tristan in hours, and that was unnerving for me. Walking out the room, I slowly closed the door behind me.
I started walking in the direction I had come from. Hopefully, he wasn't anywhere around when I found my way back to that room, or I was dead meat tonight.
I was still walking, when I heard a shrill and cold voice that made me abruptly stop in my tracks. I already knew the owner of that voice. It was none other than Tristan Turner himself.
"Do you think you can run from me? Hmm...?" He didn't even wait for a reply before continuing.
"I know exactly where you went and you shouldn't have. Why were you there?"
My breath hitched and my mouth was dry. It felt like all the oxygen drained from my body while the color drained from my face, causing me to go pale. 'Oh No!' I slapped my forehead harshly.
I was sure that he was talking about Amber. He was already furious, then I promised not to walk around, which I broke, and then I talked with Amber, who he obviously didn't want me to know of. 'Oh god kill me now, before he kills me first!' I screamed frantically in my head.
"Answer me!" He yelled loudly, my ear twitched from the sound.
How am I gonna get out of this?
