Chapter 27 (Part 1)

Tristan Pov: "I want you to set up a family dinner and get him to me, as quickly as possible." I said to her and watched how her expression changed on her face. Just a minute ago, she seemed curious, mad, and maybe even bored. Now though, after telling her this, every single one of those expressions washed away and replaced with what looked like fear. I asked myself, why was she scared to be around her family, but then gave up when no answer came to my mind. I just stood there and watched her silently, as she was too deep in thought to care about my boring gaze on her. Thinking she needed space, I averted my eyes away from her and walked out of the room, leaving her alone to deal with whatever's bothering her so much. I was surprised how it didn't take much to get her to agree, but I know she didn't want anything to do with this plan. I wish I didn't have to make her do this, because it would shatter her fragile heart more, but there was no other choice. Just because I felt something for her, that I still don't understand yet, it won't change my reality. Bryce needed to be shown who he has messed with, whether he's her brother or not. It has to happen. Once I left her room, I went back to mine and sat down on the bed. I went through a few new messages, and gave a quick reply. Needing some peace of mind, I went straight towards the shower, hoping it would ease this guilt that I feel for doing this to her. Alina Pov: When he left, I was completely alone with this culpability, knowing what I was gonna do was so wrong to everyone. I wanted to pull every strand of hair out my scalp, because of the anger and agitation that's surging through every part of my body. I had an idea of what would happen after I followed through with this plan, but I wasn't ready for any of the presumptions I made up in my head. Even though my heart has already been shattered, I was sure my soul would be taken away from me for this wrong doing I know I couldn't back out of. Words couldn't explain what I was going through, all the feelings that took place in my body that I couldn't control. I wanted to scream to the top of my lungs and cry my eyes out, but none of it came. I felt trapped and it didn't feel good at all. I should've never opened that door, because if I didn't, maybe I wouldn't be anywhere close to this vexing bastard. He was a devil in the flesh, taking contentment in others misery, which he helped create. Needing something to wash my worries away, I took a long hot shower, which didn't do a thing to help this worry of mine. Nothing would give me the closure I would need, not when I will be doing the worst thing ever. I hate him so much for doing this to me, if only I could put him in his misery just like he's doing to me. I don't deserve any of this, none of it at all. I guess luck wasn't on my side, because all I've been is unlucky.  When I got out of the shower, I placed a long white t-shirt over my body with a pair of black leggings I found in the closet. I laid back on the bed and forced my eyes to close, but sleep never came. After a few failed attempts of trying to go to sleep, I decided to give up and just gaze out the window. Tears unwillingly fell down from my eyes. I blinked them away, but that only made them fall more. I sat there, looking out the window with a tear-blurred vision. Everything about my life is so unfair, and I can't do a thing about it. Deep in my pain, I was startled when I heard the door open again. That same scent of his filled my nostrils, and the air I breathed. I tried to hide my face away from him, not wanting him to see me cry and think of me as vulnerable. His hair was damp and he smelled fresh, meaning he probably had taken a shower before he came here. I started breathing frantically as he got closer towards where I was. "Have you been crying?" He asked in a gentle tone. That made me angry. How could he ask me that stupid question after what he's making me do. "Why do you care?" I replied harshly. "I don't..." He started, making me roll my eyes. "Then don't ask me if you don't care. I know you don't. Just leave me alone for once in your damn life." He said nothing else, instead he just stood there silently as he watched me. I was annoyed by his presence, the fact that he still had the nerve to show up in front of me. "No, I will not." He said back, his tone a little hardened than before. I didn't even bother responding, since I know I would never win this fight. My head was turned away from him, so he couldn't see my face. Even when I felt him coming closer, I didn't move a muscle in my body. I sat like a statue on the bed, avoiding his gaze. "Here," he then said. I didn't look back though. When he noticed this, he reached his hand out more. I turned my head a little to see what he had in his hand. When I did, I was shocked. In his hand was my phone. "H-how?" I spoke hoarsely. All I wanted was my phone, I needed it if I even had a ray of hope of getting away from him. "Yes, this is your phone. Don't get any stupid ideas, I'm only giving it to you so you fufill your promise, and I will be watching your every move." He said sharply. My ray of hope had burned to the ground, now that I knew that I was only getting my phone to call my family and set up this stupid family dinner. And once I do, no more phone for me. How great.....(Note the sarcasm.) He handed me the phone and I snatched it from him harshly. As I turned on my phone, he stood behind me and watched my every move like a hawk, making me more nervous than I already was. Once the phone turned on, I was met with my wallpaper, which was of me and my dog, Abigail. I miss Abby so much, I wonder what's going on back at my home. Is Abby with someone right now? I pushed back my frantic thoughts and clicked on the calling app on my phone. I had over a hundred missed calls, notifications, and messages, all from my friends and boss. A few of them were also from my younger sister. I inhaled deeply and closed my eyes, before I opened them again. Oh, how I miss everyone so much. This is pure torture for me. How can someone be so f*****g cruel? "Continue..." He said emotionless, making me even more pissed. Of course he wouldn't be affected by all of this, but I surely was. I went to the contact section and searched for my moms name. After I finished typing it in, I clicked her name and scrolled down to the phone number. Nervousness shot through every part of my body. I could even feel my body slightly shivering. I haven't spoken to my mother in years. Yes, she has called me before, and I always left it unanswered. I never had the courage to call back or tell her I wasn't angry with the family. This would be my first time in so long that I will communicate with my mom, and the circumstances were not good. "Call," Tristan reminded me sternly. I passed a glare at him and returned my attention back to the phone. "I-I'm doing it...I just n-need some t-time" I stammered. "Well hurry up, I don't have all day to wait for when you're ready." He replied harshly. After a few moments of hesitation, I finally forced my finger to press call. The phone automatically started ringing, making me more and more timorous by each passing second. "Put it on speaker," Tristan said behind me, quietly but loud enough for me to hear. I did as he asked, and put the phone on speaker so he could hear. The phone continued ringing, and the moment I thought no one would answer, I was proved wrong. The next thing I heard on the line was my mother's voice. After so many years, I finally heard her sweet voice. "Hello, Alina?" She asked. I froze completely, every single action of mines halted, and all the cells in my body went numb. Tristan stood and glared at me, telling me through his eyes to respond. How could I though, this was way too much for me to handle. "Hello? Alina...is this you?" My mother asked again. Tristan's glare got even harder as I sat there shocked. Snapping out of whatever trance I was in, my senses came back to me and after a few forced attempts of speaking, my voice came back to me. "M-mom?" I strained, tears falling down my eyes persistently.
