Chang and Brody’s Ranch
Ramona lay in bed facing the clock on the bedside table, ‘Four AM, ‘I’d better get Rico up.’ She rolled over and found that Rico wasn’t there.
As Ramona smelled coffee, she heard Rico’s voice, “Daylight in the swamp, time to get up!”
Rolling back over, Ramona saw her husband, dressed only in his underwear.
Rico held a tray with two coffee mugs and some buttered toast slices on saucers. As Ramona sat up in bed, Rico removed a mug of coffee and one of the toast plates and placed them on the bedside table for her.
Rico placed the tray on the floor next to a recliner and sat down in the chair. He reached down, picked up the mug, and took a drink. “Did you sleep well?” he asked Ramona.
