Chapter 20 Figuring it out The three-car convoy of black SUVs raced along highway M-59 toward Detroit. One mile ahead, a fourth vehicle watched for any situations that might impede the other cars' travel. In the center vehicle, Rico sat in the back seat with FBI Special Agent Evans and Detroit Detective Cavanaugh. Evans, an attractive black woman with fifteen years in the bureau, was briefing Rico. “We are pretty sure we’ve found the trail of the bomb. A Detroit resident named William Daniels had his family taken hostage. Daniels was a truck driver who made regular trips across the Canadian border. We figure Daniels was coerced, with the threat of death to his family, and forced to deliver the bomb to the airfield. Unfortunately, they killed his family and him after he did their bidding.
