A Bearded Ghost
Barnes and Conrad stood on the tarmac in the hot Las Vegas evening. The lights of the airport made the area as bright as day. As they waited at the Corporate Terminal for the plane, a man told them, “The plane you are waiting for is coming… Oh, there it is now. Barnes and Conrad watched as an oversized dart landed smoothly and taxied near where the two men stood. “Will you look at that!” Said Barnes, “That thing had to cost millions. You don’t suppose he’s gone back to the drug trade, do you?”
Before Conrad could answer, a group of serious-looking men in suits carrying MP-5s appeared. One of them walked brusquely up to the two policemen. “Are you Barnes and Conrad?”
