McLean Psychiatric Hospital was on the outskirts of Phoenix, and therefore it took him around forty-five minutes to get to the coffeehouse. When he walked through the front doors, he saw a familiar figure sat by the window. With long brown hair that draped over her shoulders, Cassie stared at her coffee and aimlessly stirred it.    Andrew walked towards her slowly, as if approaching a wounded animal. “I'm here,” he said softly.   Cassie's hand froze, and she looked up at Andrew. As soon as their eyes met, Andrew felt his heart stir. Her eyes were filled with despair and desperation. Whatever the reason for that look in her eyes, he believed that she was at the end of her rope.
