Samuel's pov I couldnt peel my eyes from my mate as she strolled into the dining room from a side door carrying some pans. She was breathtaking in her black sports bra and red shorts; piling a plate with food and greeting pack memebers as she approached our table. Teah began asking about daily plans causing Tom to bounce like a child at the mention of a run. My mate released a soft giggle bringing a smile to my face as I finally saw some real emotions in her eyes. Her and Teahs eyes fogged over for a moment before they stopped mindlinking and my mate turned to me asking if we needed clothes which confused me since uncle Zachariah had said he'd tell her about Tom and I staying for the meeting even more concerning was that she'd said her only meeting today was with somebody named Zeke with no mention of Zachariah. Jade was just as confused when I told her that we had brought clothes, but her eyes softned upon hearing uncle Zachariahs name. When I finished she flashed me a quick smile before telling me that she hadn't heard Zekes real name in a long time and that he had told her about us coming to the meeting but not to the party or staying the night. Apparently Zeke is actual my uncle Zachariah, but I've never heard him called that. I'll have to ask him about it when we see him later. After changing into some shorts and tennis shoes I met up with Tom, Teah, and Jade infront of the pack house for our jog. My mate was even beautiful when she ran, with her long hair flowing behind in a high pony tail I noticed the side of a star on her right shoulder blade peaking out from under the strap on her sports bra, most wolves dont get tattoos because of our rapid healing so I found it rather strange that Jade has one, but she was different than most so I didnt question it. We stopped at the forest for Tom to admire the trees before continuing our jog to the main gate then back towards the pack house. Jade and Teah stopped suddenly with their eyes fogging over for a moment in a mindlink before they exchanged a look full of rage and began sprinting back towards the woods. Tom and I ran after them without hesitating as he mindlinked me, "Sam what's going on." "I dont know, but it's nothing good. Look around Tom the whole pack is converging on the pack house while their Alpha and Beta are running as if lives depended on it," cutting the link I focused on my mate. As the treeline and a couple warriors came into view my mate began removing her clothes without slowing down. I was amazed as Jade and Teah bounded over a down log shifting midair and landing in wolf form while never missing a step; Teahs wolf was small and covered in golden fur while my mates wolf was slightly bigger with midnight black fur and while specks splattered around reminding me of the night sky. I gave Axel control while following Jade into the forest, she was definitely on a mission and I'd be by her side no matter what that mission is. The sour scent of rogue hit my nose and within a few seconds Jade, Teah, Tom, the 2 warriors, and I stood infront of a bloody battle field. I took a quick body count of the people fighting and was shocked to see four other warriors holding off approximately 30 rogues. This pack is truly amazing. My mate released a loud Alpha howl as she charged into the horde of rogues; never losing sight of her Axel tore through a few rogues proud to see her take down at least six herself before darting in the opposite direction. I followed Jades lead, but stopped when I saw her grab a rogue by the leg and begin tossing him around like a rag doll. She finished by ripping out his throat before climbing off the rogue and going to Teah. As I took a step towards my mate a warrior stopped me while shaking his head, my mate pressed her forehead to Teahs for a moment while all the men shifted back. Once shifted a warrior brought Jade and Teah some clothes as we all turned around so they could shift in privacy. After a few moments I turned around not able to take the silence, but I was shocked seeing Jade and Teah staring at eachother with their eyes fogged over in a mindlink while silent tears rolled down my mates face. I couldnt believe this powerful Alpha that never shows emotion was currently breaking before our eyes. Their eyes cleared as they noticed us all staring causing my mate to adorn her stoic face. Teah approached my brother with my mate in tow not releasing her hand until Tom engulfed Teah into a hug. Once they began walking back towards the pack house my mate gave the warriors orders. She turned walking further into the woods; as I jogged up next to her I noticed her eyes a brighter green than usual signifying that her wolf was on the surface. Rogue hit my nose drawing my focus to a large bush that my mate had stopped a few feet away from; Axel growled as I spotted four wolf eyes staring back at me, but before I could reach them se punched me. Damn for being so small she sure packs a punch. My mate sat infront of me never looking away from the eyes; as I collected my breath her posture relaxed slightly before she spoke keeping her voice soft and light in an attempt to lure the rogues out. "Axel did she just call them children? How can she know that, all I can see are two sets of eyes not even an outline of their wolves," I asked my wolf while listening to Jade speak. "Out mate is smart and well connected to her wolf that's how," at his response it dawned on me; Jade wasn't the one to spot them in fact it had been her wolf that saw them. Most werewolves could only use their wolf senses for a few minutes before they were completely exhausted not even able to move, yet my mate had just walked for 10 minutes while having her wolf at the surface and wasn't even breaking a sweat. Two small wolves emerged from the bush as Jade threw some clothes at them. After staring for a moment she turned to me saying that the children were of no danger and that if I hurt them she'd essentially kill me with hesitation; which I didnt understand seeing as they're rogues and I knew her standing on outsiders, but it's her pack so I just sat quietly watching her speak to the children. They agreed to come back for some food, but struggled trying to walk; I was dumbstruck as my mate scooped each boy up in her arms flashing them a small smile before she began walking. She just killed at least 6 rogues and her wolf had control for a while so I'm sure she's exhausted; reaching forward I grabbed the bigger boy sitting him on my hip before Jade walked around me and brought the boy she carried onto her other hip. The small boys joined hands as my mate and I carried them out of the woods and to the pack house. As we approached the pack house I noticed pack members going about their day as if there hadn't of just been an attack on the pack. They didnt even glance our way as Jade and I entered the pack house. I heard two small rumbles as the scent of food wafted through the air. My mate lead me to the table we ate at this morning before sitting down the boys on one side. They looked around taking in the large dining area as Jade wandered through the back door emerging a minute later carrying a large pan with 3 young woman following her, probably omegas, who were also carrying pans. The woman placed their pans in a warming table before two of them returned to the kitchen leaving my mate and a tall older woman with graying hair standing infront of the food. After a moment they returned to the table with four plates full of chocolate chip waffles, bacon, sausage links, muffins, and biscuits smothered in gravey. The children dug in as my mate and the older woman placed the plates infront of them; by the way they ate it seems they may have been starved. While the boys shoveled bacon and waffles into their mouths Jades emerald eyes met mine as she spoke, "Samuel are you hungry? If so you're welcome to join Sally and I while we grab some food for ourselves." "Thank you Jade I wasn't actually hungry until I smelled those biscuits and gravy so I'd love to join you ladys," I smiled while standing up never losing her eyes. Once we returned to the table my mate introduced the woman with her as her head omega Sally, stating that she would help the children with anything they needed while here. The rest of our meal was spent in silence as we all devoured the food. I stood and helped Sally clear the plates as Jade took the children upstairs presumably to their rooms. Making my way to the living room I spotted Teah and Tom sitting on the couch watching a movie in each others arms. "Hey where'd you guys run off too after the fight?" I asked Tom while taking a seat on the loveseat near them. Teah spoke up before Tom had a chance, "I was worried about the pack so we returned here to check on everybody." At the moment my mate entered the living room taking the seat next to me. I glanced over before speaking, "Jade could we go for a walk together?" she thought about it for a couple minutes nodding and climbing off the couch. Jade grabbed my hand leading me out the back of the pack house and into a massive garden. I was in awe as we approached the center where a large fountain stood with two wolves howling in the center, my mate sat on a stone bench as I circled the fountain examining the golden and black wolf statues while realizing they're not just random wolves but actually Teah and Jades wolves. Sitting next to my mate I began talking softly, "Where did the statue come from? I can see the sadness in your eyes as you look at it so I'm sure you didnt purchase it." Starting with a small question I hoped she would open up a little to me. Jade thought for a moment before answering, "It was a gift from the pack for becoming Alpha and meeting my wolf the year before, but to me it's a horrible reminder of the day my pack almost fell." she stared at the ground while speaking never looking up. I mumbled a quick apology before asking if there was anything that she wanted to know about me, but she just shook her head. I was so confused, she doesnt want to tell me about herself or her pack, but she also doesnt want to know anything about me. This woman is infuriating, she giggled noticing my rising agitation, "Calm down, my Beta already told me everything I needed to know about you," she winked before continuing, "you became Alpha at 18 and like most your parents just stepped down, your mother still handles the Luna duties, and according to your brother you're a very fair and just Alpha that puts his pack above all, but I think the last part was just thrown in to persuade me." I listened to her angelic voice as she described my life perfectly. "Well damn, you're beta got a lot of information outta mine, but mine didnt get any info from yours." I frowned remembering how Tom had said Teah refused to speak anything about Jade. My mate caught on and continued talking, "dont take it personally, outsiders dont get any information about our pack until they become pack members. That is our biggest rule." Glancing up I asked, "Why is that your biggest rule?" hoping she'd answer I sat watching as her eyes began to glow bright green signifying her wolf on the edge. As I was starting to think I'd pissed her off she finally answered, "my parents thought they could trust their 'friend' from another pack, but once he saw how much power my father had he decided to kill them for it," Jade shrugged as she finished. Axel started pacing in my head wanting to destroy whoever this mystery man is, "what is his name and where can I find him." She flashed me an evil smirk, "you'll never find him," I raised an eyebrow in confusion as she continued, "that was the day I met my wolf and we got our first kill." Then it clicked, I wouldnt be able to find him because my mate had already killed him. "I'm truly glad you got your revenge. Can I ask another question?" I was really pushing it now, but I didnt want to stop talking to Jade. She nodded to I continued, "Why doesnt anybody in the pack call you by your name? Everytime I hear somebody talking to or about you they just refer to you as Alpha J or just plain J," this had been bothering me since the mating party; hell even her Beta didnt use her actual name." She began laughing harder than I've ever seen. With tears in her eyes she finally caught her breath and responded, "that's because you and Tom are here. As I've said no outsiders get any information about us until they're pack members," Jade flashed me a mischievous smile, "that includes legal names." My eyes almost popped outta my head at the realization, "What?! So your names not even Jade? What about Teah?" She kept her voice even while speaking again, "Nope. Until you're a pack member all I can tell you is that our legal names start with a J and a T, but nothing more. That's why the pack has been referring to us as J and T instead of Jade and Teah. It makes it easier to respond to if it's something simple and similar." I was dumbfounded, her name wasn't even Jade? How could she be so cavalier about such a big lie?
