Jazmines pov

Stretching my limbs I rolled from the bed. After running a brush through my hair I tossed on a sports bra and some basketball shorts slipping into my nike running shoes before exiting my room. As I descended the stairs a soft raspberry scent drifted into my nose making Katara stir in anticipation of seeing our mate causing my eyes to roll.

As I entered the kitchen Sam greeted me with a chirpy 'goodmorning Alpha' before turning back to making more gravy for the biscuits. "Hey Sam, anything I can help with this morning?," I questioned looking around the room for something to do. She handed me a pan of fresh waffles along with a bowl and fresh chopped fruit, "take these to the dining area then sit and eat. I'm almost done with the gravy and I believe most of the pack has eaten, so there's nothing else to be done in here." Shoving me out of the kitchen she returned to her work.

I felt my mates eyes land on me the moment I entered the dining area never moving as I placed the waffles and fruit on the table while piling a plate with bacon, ham, some fruit, and a muffin. Approaching my usual seat I recieved the typical 'goodmorning Alpha' from all pack members I passed before noticing Tessa sat in her spot with Tom next to her leaving the only open seat across the table next to my mate. My eyes connected with my mates bright blue orbs before they darted to the floor causing me to smirk.

"Hey J, any plans for the day?" Tessa asked while stealing a strip of bacon from my plate.

"Not really. Zeke is coming by later for some Alpha business but he's not suppose to arrive until later so I thought I'd go for a run.." Tom interrupted me while bouncing like an exciting child in his seat, "Can I come!" he looked at me expectantly before catching himself, "I'm sorry Alpha J, but I noticed your packs beautiful forest when we arrived yesturday and instantly fell in love." I smiled as I linked Tessa.

"You're mates adorable T. He seems very genuine and happy."

"I know. He told me all about his family and life last night when we came back. Tom also told me a bit about Samuel.." she trailed off waiting to see if I'd want the information.

"Okay spill," I rolled my eyes as a broad smile adorned her face.

"Well you already know his name. Apparently he became Alpha of Coldmoon when he was 18 years old; like most Alphas his parents just stepped down, but his mother and younger sister share the Luna duties. According to Tom he is a very fair and just Alpha putting his packs well being over all," Tessa finished with a gigantic smile knowing that my main concern in a mate was pack care.

"He sounds great, but Katara wants to see for herself before we decide if were going to reject him or not," cutting the mindlink I turned my attention back to our mates that sat staring at us.

"Tom you and your brother are welcome to join Teah and I on our run. We will be sure to go near the woods to you may see the trees closer," he flashed a 1000 watt smile before turning to Samuel replacing his smile with a puffed out lip and puppy dog eyes.

"yes I'll go stop with the begging," my mate responded with an eyeroll before a giggle escaped my lips at the similarity of Tom and Tessas persuasion methods.

Meeting my mates cyan blue eyes Katara howled in my head as I spoke to him, "I can have an omega bring some workout clothes to your rooms."

"That's alright we have some clothes with us," his smooth deep voice made my insides turn as he spoke.

"Why do you have clothes with you?," The guests for the mating party were to leave at the end. Nobody was to stay here and my guards knew that.

My suspicion faded as he explained himself, "Well we were suppose to accompany our uncle Zachariah to a meeting with you today, but since we were attending the party last night he said he would give you a heads up and that we could just stay here until he arrived," he paused taking a breath before continuing, "I'm sorry, but I heard you telling Teah that your only meeting today is with somebody named Zeke so I'm not sure why my uncle sent us here if hes not going to be coming." He seemed a little on edge as he finished, but never lost eye contact with me.

I let a small smile creep to my lips before speaking to my mate, "I haven't heard Zekes real name in years. He did tell me his nephew's would be accompanying him to the meeting, but failed to mention the staying over part."

Once we finished our food Tessa and the boys went upstairs to change while I proceeded to the front yard to wait. They joined me after a few moments and we began jogging towards the forest on the east side of the territory. Tom slowed as we approached the woods with awe shining in his eyes and mouth open he scanned up and down the trees, "J, may I ask how long this forest has been growing?," he spoke without moving his eyes from the massive oak trees.

"Nobody knows. This forest has been around longer that BloodRose has," I stated while shrugging.

"Can we go deeper into the woods?" he looked at me expectantly.

"No. The forest is off limits to all outsiders excluding Zeke," offering a solemn smirk I turned leading everybody jogging to the front gate before turning back to the pack house.

Halfway back to the pack house a mindlink rang through my head from a warrior on the eastern border, "Rogues are attacking. I counted 50 of them. Please hurry I dont think my team and I can hold them off for long!"

Glancing at Tessa I realised everybody must have received the link as panic flashed in her eyes before being replaced with the firey burn of rage. "BloodRose we are prepared for this. The attack is coming from the eastern border so the safe house is off limits, please use the safe room in the pack house instead. Now everybody report to your areas and obey head omega Sam until Tess and I return. Jeff, Phillip please meet us at the forest," releasing a mass mindlink I organized our pack before running to the woods.

I could hear Tom and Samuel's feet pounding the ground as they followed Tessa and I not sure of what is going on. Jeff and Phillip were already there in wolf form when we approached the woods. Once in sight I stripped my clothes without slowing down and allowed Katara to take over. Popping bones rang through my ears as I shifted allowing midnight black hair with small silver specks to cover my body while my claws and canines grow out.

Landing on all four paws Katara ripped through the woods following the scent of rogue. We could hear 5 wolves following us as we approached the battle field, but Katara and I knew who they belonged to. I came to a halt taking a quick assessment for the battle; the grass was littered with dead bodies seemingly to all belong to rogues. Four of my guard squad members were attempting to hold off the remaining 30 rogues.

I released a powerful Alpha growl while charging into the fight with Tessa and Samuel directly behind me. A small sense of pride rose in me as my mate didnt hesitate to fight for my pack. I stopped counting my kills after slicing through my first 8 rogues. Glancing around I watched Jackie, Tessa wolf, snap a rogues neck as another slowly approached from her blind spot.

It felt like Katara and I were flying as we charged the rogue about to attack our sister. I embedded my canines into its hind leg yanking him back before he could grab ahold of Jackie. A loud crunch came from his leg as I shattered it with my jaws eliciting a whimper from the rogue. I tossed him into a tree with as much force as I could muster breaking at least 3 ribs. Jumping on his chest Katara took his throat in her mouth and proceeded to rip his jugular vein out. Serves him right for trying to attack my sister.

Climbing from the rogues body I noticed my four guards and our mates had shifted back and tossed on shorts leaving only Tessa and I in our wolf forms. Our eyes connected as she mindlinked me, "Katara thank you for having my back. I'm so sorry I let my guard down for a moment.." I approached Jackie gently pressing our foreheads together; this is how Jackie and Katara have always comforted eachother.

We stood like this for a moment before I felt a strong hand running through Katara's fur. I knew it was Phillip as his hand came into view holding out two oversized tshirts for Tessa and I. As he laid them down next to us my men turned with our mates following suit as to not see our bodies when we shift back. Most wolves aren't shy about their naked bodies, but since I took over as Alpha at 10 years old the pack has always respected my privacy.

Katara and Jackie relinquished control back to Tessa and I as we slipped on the shirts and took each others hand tears pooled in my eyes, "T I can't lose you too. Please be more careful; next battle I may not be able to reach the enemy before they reach you. You're the only person I have left please T don't leave me alone to face this world," she wiped away the warm tears and they made tracks down my face.

"Dont worry J, from now on I'll focus training primarily on my blind spot. I will do anything possible to never leave you alone. You may act tough around everybody else, but I know you're still a softy," grinning she engulfed me in a bear hug. As I wiped the tear streaks from my face we turned realizing everybody was staring at us.

I addressed the warrior that had sent the mindlink warning us of the attack, "John I want a detailed report about this by morning. Jeff are you busy tonight? I'd like you to assist John so that he wont be out here all night," he responded with strength in his words, "Yes Alpha."

Tom hung an arm over Tessas shoulders as they walked towards to pack house to release the pack members. I wandered further into the woods, allowing Katara to come to the surface and enhance my senses, we followed the faint scent of rogue mixed with fear. Coming around a large tree I spotted two tiny wolves cowering almost on top of eachother in the brush.

I turned bringing my first into Samuel's stomach as he attempted to lunge at them causing his breath to rush from his lungs. As he steadied himself I retrieved a couple hidden tshirts from a nearby hiding spot for the wolves before sitting between my mate and them.

Softening my features I began speaking to the small wolves, "Children please come out and shift back I would like to talk to you without my mate here growling the whole time," locking eyes with the grey wolf I finished, "I dont allow anybody to harm children pack member or rogue. You are safe here." They glanced at eachother before slowly climbing from their hiding spot. I threw the clothes closer to them as they shifted back revealing two small boys covered in mud and blood.

I mindlinked Sam the situation before turning to the children and allowing Katara to rise to the surface again. She had an amazing ability to see werewolves aura when they are in human form, but it took a lot of energy and neither of us knew why were able to do it. The children were surrounded with a deep blue fog signifying they have no murderous intent only fear. Allowing Katara to withdraw for some rest I turnes my attention to my mate that had been watching our interactions. "Samuel these kids mean no harm. If you do anything to harm them in any way I will personally put you down. Understand?" he nodded while sitting cross legged next to me.

"Okay children my name is Alpha J and you're on BloodRose territory. As I said you will not be harmed while here, but I would like you to come with Samuel and I to the pack house to get cleaned up. My head omega is currently getting food and rooms set up for you both," they shared a disbelieving look before slowly nodding their heads. "Good. Can you walk or would you like to be carried?" the youngest finally spoke up, "n.. no ma'am.. w.. we can walk." he stuttered elicting a frown from the older boy. The older boy placed an arm around the youngers waist supporting his weight as they stumbled forward. Noticing the young one couldnt walk well I scooped my arms under both lifting them into each arm as they gasped.

After a few steps my mate spoke up reaching for the older boy, "here I'll take one. You're arms have to be tired from the fight. Let me share the load a little." Releasing the boy I smiled at Samuel as he shifted the older boy onto his right side causing me to put the younger on my left hip and switch to Samuel's right side knowing the boys would want to stay close to eachother.
