Two Years Later…
"Nervous?" Sicily asked as she helped me put my graduation gown on.
"Very," I replied, looking at her beautiful eyes as she zipped the gown up, giving me a soft smile. I could see how sad she was that I was graduating and leaving her behind.
"I'll miss you," she said, keeping her tears at bay.
"Hey, beautiful. I'll come back to visit."
"I know. It's just that, with Eva and Johnny moving out to their own home with the babies, and you graduating, I'll be alone here. Adam and Leila moved away as well." Her voice was breaking and I couldn't help but take her in my arms and hug her tightly.
"I'm proud of you, though. You got the spot in NASCAR. That's amazing."
"It is amazing. And don't worry, it's just one more year."
