Nevara I woke with sunlight spilling through the curtains, warm and bright against my skin. My whole body ached—the deep, steady kind of ache that felt earned rather than endured. Every muscle pulsed in protest, but beneath the soreness lay a quiet satisfaction. I’d slept better than I had in months. The fire had long gone out, yet the cabin still held the faint smell of cedar smoke. I stretched, winced, and laughed softly under my breath.
