CHAPTER THREE

750 Words
THE FIRST MEETING Their furies were angry with their wolves.A change in her when she met with David and in him when they met with each other. This was NOT the usual answer. It was not the roar of two strangers but of two new wolves who had never met before and there was more to it.Something ancient. Neither could they have ever experienced something like that but it was a feeling that Renee had before it.A thrill of force came over her that was too much and too quick to be exploited in any manner, she could not breathe and it was so large. The woman she saw who lives under the moon so had her Wolf awakened. Not cautiously. Not defensively. But completely. There was not a time in her life when she had ever felt her wolf being at odds with the walls she always had between them. After that a voice.Clear.Certain. She was filled with fear and that fear had taken hold. Mate! Renee froze. Her eyes widened. "No!" It is not possible that this would be correct, these past years, she has been told that the family she should hate is the family of David Draven as the man she was meant to marry as per a pact made before both of their births. He was her enemy. He was to stay her foe. The primordial goddess however, was not bothered by hatred as she who walks beneath the moon knew that Vargen was her mate. The realization hit Renee however and she was virtually brought to her knees. The power flowed through her and her sight became hazy and happened to grab the edge of the nearest table, to keep her standing. "What…"she whispered. Her breathing was quick and her heart was beating so fast that it was pounding on her ribs. She did not grasp what was going on because this was a feeling she experienced for the first time. This was the first time a primordial goddess behaved like this.It was always possible for Renee Vale to control her Wolf. But now?She could not. It seemed to be a force more than either of them could muster. All of a sudden David ran into a wall, and stumbled in the hall across from where he was. He put his hand on his chest. He began to have irregular breathing.Vargen was awake. Now David heeded no longer His voice. Mate!"What is the word?" Mentalities him. David's gaze was fixed on the blonde woman. There was no coldness and attitude on his face but instead for the first time he was looking at kids and shock replaced it as he was feeling the same desire. The same suffocation which is a force and that same force of overwhelming power. That which we can never know. His wolf knew her. Not as the daughter of Medra's.Not as a part of the tarnished Vale family. Not as the woman that he had been taught to hate.As his mate.David'sjaw tightened. "No!" He could not hold back the word from escaping him and Renee Vale took her gaze from him but she was very pale and was still trying to stand up. Did you . . . hear that?David did not answer. He could not.He did not have any explanation as to why. Both of them were clueless of what had just taken place as the first response to them from their wolves as they were able to control them at all times in the past. This, however, was not the case now. The force that passed between them was more than they had ever experienced and they knew what it felt like to be in God's presence. This it seemed was a full house throughout this whole hall and the guards were able to feel it. In the air it was as if it shook but under all that, there was something that Renee and David Draven did not want to believe.Obviously, their hatred was already there when they met for it existed long before they did and it had been passed down from their Ancestors, passed down?from grievances? whispers?accusing blood? They did not know each other's names, and at the time they hated each other. However, what sprang to life between them was much older and stronger and more intense than their hatred which they carried for years.David's heart raced, as Renee looked at him. David Draven stared back.Neither moved.Neither spoke. They had already decided on their choice of wolves. For the first time in their lives, Renee and David knew there were things that hate could not change.
