  The moment I stepped out of the car, I could feel the heat of camera flashes burning through my skin. The air smelled like perfume, champagne, and money… the kind of combination that only existed in places where no one ever checked a price tag. Teddy stood beside me, perfect as usual. A tux molded to his body like it was born there. Every button gleaming, every movement deliberate. He offered me his arm, and I took it, because that was what I was paid to do.
