“Leaving so soon, Isabella?” The voice was cold and menacing, freezing her in place. “I have a message for you from Selena. She’s looking forward to meeting you... very soon.”
Isabella’s heart pounded as she turned to see a figure cloaked in darkness standing in the doorway. The room fell silent, all eyes on the newcomer. Adrian moved closer to her; his protective stance clear.
“Who are you?” Isabella demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.
The figure stepped forward, revealing a pale, angular face with piercing eyes that glinted with malice. “My name is not important. What matters is that Selena knows about you, and she is eager to meet her competition.”
“Competition?” Isabella asked, her voice shaking slightly.
“Yes,” the figure replied, a sinister smile playing on his lips. “You see, Selena has been watching you. She knows what you’re capable of, and she wants to see it for herself.”
Adrian growled low in his throat, his muscles tensing. “You should leave. Now.”
The figure chuckled, an eerie sound that sent shivers down Isabella’s spine. “Oh, I will. But remember this, Isabella: Selena is powerful, and she won’t stop until she has what she wants.”
With that, the figure turned and disappeared into the night, leaving a palpable tension in the room. The guests whispered among themselves, casting nervous glances at Isabella and her father.
Lorenzo’s face was a mask of fury. “Who was that? And what does Selena want from you?”
Isabella took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart. “Father, there are things you don’t know about me. About our family.”
Lorenzo’s eyes narrowed. “What are you talking about?”
Adrian stepped forward. “Isabella’s mother was a powerful witch. Isabella has inherited her powers, and now they’re awakening.”
Lorenzo’s expression shifted from anger to shock. “A witch? My wife was a witch?”
“Yes,” Isabella said, her voice gaining strength. “And I have powers too. That’s why Selena is interested in me. She wants my abilities.”
Lorenzo looked at her for a long moment, his eyes filled with a mixture of emotions. Finally, he sighed. “We’ll discuss this later. For now, we need to ensure the safety of our guests.”
He turned to Marco. “Double the security. I want every inch of this place covered.”
Marco nodded and hurried off to carry out his orders. The guests slowly resumed their conversation, though the atmosphere remained tense.
Adrian leaned in close to Isabella. “We need to talk. Privately.”
She nodded, and they slipped away from the crowd, heading to a quieter part of the mansion. They found an empty room and closed the door behind them.
“Who is Selena?” Isabella asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Selena is a powerful witch,” Adrian explained. “She’s been gathering followers, building her strength. She wants to control the supernatural community, and she sees you as a threat.”
“Why me?” Isabella asked, feeling a mix of fear and confusion.
“Because your powers are unique,” Adrian said. “You’re not just a witch. You’re also destined to be a Luna, the mate of an Alpha. That makes you incredibly powerful.”
Isabella’s mind raced. She had always felt different, but this was beyond anything she had imagined. “What do we do now?”
“We are preparing,” Adrian said firmly. “I’ll help you learn to control your powers. And we need to find allies who can help us stand against Selena.”
Isabella nodded, determination hardening within her. “Okay. Let’s do it.”
The rest of the night passed in a blur. The guests eventually left, and the mansion grew quiet. Isabella lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, her mind filled with thoughts of the future. She knew her life had changed forever, and she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
The next morning, Isabella woke early. She dressed quickly and made her way to the kitchen, where she found Adrian already waiting for her.
“Morning,” he said with a small smile.
“Morning,” she replied, feeling a flutter of nerves. “What’s the plan?”
“First, we need to assess your current abilities,” Adrian said. “Then we’ll work on strengthening them.”
Isabella nodded, eager to get started. They went outside to the mansion’s expansive grounds, where they would have privacy.
“Let’s start with something simple,” Adrian suggested. “Can you create a light?”
Isabella took a deep breath and focused. She raised her hand, and a small ball of light appeared above her palm. It flickered for a moment before stabilizing.
“Good,” Adrian said, nodding approvingly. “Now, try to make it brighter.”
Isabella concentrated, and the light grew more intense, illuminating the surrounding area. She felt a surge of energy, a sense of power she had never known before.
“Excellent,” Adrian said. “You’re a natural. Now, let’s try something more challenging.”
They spent the morning practicing various exercises, each one designed to test and expand Isabella’s abilities. As the hours passed, she felt her confidence growing. She was learning to control her powers, to harness the energy within her.
By midday, they took a break. Isabella was exhausted but exhilarated. She had never felt so alive.
“You’re doing great,” Adrian said as they sat in the shade, sipping water. “You have a lot of potential.”
“Thanks,” Isabella said, smiling. “I couldn’t do it without you.”
Adrian’s expression grew serious. “There’s something else we need to discuss. Selena isn’t the only threat out there. There are others who would want to use your powers for their own purposes.”
Isabella nodded, feeling a chill run down her spine. “I understand. We need to be careful.”
“Yes,” Adrian agreed. “But we’re not alone. There are others who will stand with us. We just need to find them.”
Isabella felt a spark of hope. “Then let’s start looking.”
As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the mansion grounds, Isabella and Adrian made plans to seek out allies and gather their strength. They knew the road ahead would be dangerous, but they were ready to face it together.
But just as they were about to head back inside, a rustling sound came from the nearby trees. They turned, their senses on high alert.
From the shadows emerged a figure, cloaked and hooded. The figure stepped forward, revealing a familiar face—a face Isabella had seen in her dreams.
“Hello, Isabella,” the figure said, their voice echoing eerily. “We have much to discuss.”
Isabella’s heart raced as she recognized the figure. It was the man from her dreams, the one who had always been watching her. And now, he was here, in the flesh, standing before her.
“What do you want?” Isabella asked, her voice steady despite the fear gnawing at her.
The man smiled, a knowing smile that sent a shiver down her spine. “I want to help you, Isabella. But first, you need to trust me.”
Isabella glanced at Adrian, who nodded slightly, indicating that he was ready to protect her if necessary.
“Alright,” Isabella said, her voice strong. “I’ll listen.”
The man’s smile widened. “Good. Because there are things you need to know—about your powers, your destiny, and the war that is coming.”
As the darkness deepened around them, Isabella felt a sense of foreboding.
