Dylan

It's been a year since we got married, we been so happy is unreal. We both decided to sell our places and get a house together, you know to start fresh, however today we received a letter from Maddie's lawyer as you might remember she was the b***h who kept me and Ash apart, by lying to him about her being sick, I was still pissed at her and didn't wanted to go meet her, why should I? As far as I’m concerned, I don’t owe her s**t.

But the letter was from a lawyer, said it was crucial for the both of us to be there, so here we are sitting in a plane to fly to our hometown.

I was still doing my management job with Eddie, Conner bought a club and was running it, him and Eddie just adopted the cutest little baby girl. I was jealous I wanted my own rug rats, but Ash said he had just got me back, can I please enjoy you for a couple of years, before I have to share you? I understood him but it didn't mean I agreed, so I just nodded to him in agreement.

Ash was still a photographer, he did models for Victoria secret, I have to be honest here at first, I was jealous, but after long nights of s*x with him I knew he only wanted me and love me.

Plane landed.

We made our way to the lawyer’s office my mind was going through different scenarios. Was Maddie suing us for Ash divorcing her to married me? Can you even do that? I had no idea why you would want to see your ex -husband with his new husband, I was utterly confused.

‘’Please sit down, Mr. Washington, and uhm Mr. Washington.’’ The lawyer seems nervous.

So far so good I thought, Maddie wasn't here, so maybe is just her lawyer.

‘’Not to be rude, but why are we here?’’ Ash didn’t waste any time.

‘’Well as the letter stated, I'm an attorney to Madeline Washington, yes she kept your last name.’’ He explained when he saw me raise an eyebrow at her full name.

‘’Ok, so why are we here?’’ Ash was losing his patience.

‘’Maddie got sick after you two divorce, she got cancer and was too far to contemplate meds or chemo, I guess the radiation that she had  to do when she lied to you made her immune and created some kind of problem and got cancer.’’ The lawyer started to explain, all I heard was she was sick again, what does this mean? Is Ash going to leave me again? Am I going to lose him again? I involuntary started shaking and Ash notice he turns to look at me; he got up and kneels in front of me.

‘’Hey, stop don't even go to where I’m sure you’re going, I’m not leaving you, I love you and we are married ok.’’  Ash coos kissing my lips very softly, that calmed me down and Ash without moving or breaking eye contact with me, he asks the lawyer.

‘’Again, why am I here? Maddie and I aren't that close anymore.’’ Ash asks him.

‘’Well she passed last night.’’ He spoke with a serious tone, and we both look at him surprised, did he just say Maddie died?

No! That can't be, I mean I hated her, but I didn't want her to die, she was only doing what she could so she could keep the one she loved, I was the coward who gave up.

I didn't know I was crying until Ash wipe the tears from my face, he seemed sad and who could blame him, they were best friends, yes he was mad at her, but she still hold a small piece of his heart, hell whenever I get mad at Eddie it doesn't last long, Eddie to me is like what Maddie was to Ash, his sister, friend and confidant, and Maddie could've killed his dog and Ash would forgive her, but now he couldn't say I forgive you Maddie and I still love you as my sister and best friend.

After that shocked the lawyer clear his throat.

‘’Well I can see why she chose you two.’’ He looked at us in awe, I turn to look at Ash, but he was still looking like he wasn’t here, mentally that is. I took it upon me to ask what that meant.

‘’What do you mean?’’ I question him.

‘’About one week ago, Maddie gave birth to a boy, that's why she couldn’t get treatment she wanted the baby in good health, the dad was a one night stand and married too, I seek him out to get him to sign away any rights, and he doesn't even know if the baby was a boy or girl, as soon as Maddie knew she was pregnant, she started doing all the paper work, so long story short, congratulations you two have a baby boy.’’ He chirps and I gasp, and Ash looks at the lawyer.

‘’She wanted us to keep the baby?’’ Ash finally spoke.

‘’Yes, she said it was the least she could do for you guys after what she put you through, and she wanted her, well your son now, in good hands, and she said you guys were the perfect loving couple.’’ He smiles looking at our hands. Ash was holding mine tightly in his.

‘’How did she know that?’’ I was confused so I had to ask him, I had thought Maddie didn’t like me, I knew she hated me for taking Ash away, Ash squeeze my hand gently.

‘’She said that two people who can be in love with each other for ten years even without seeing each other for all that time, that they were the real thing, their love was strong and real and that you two were meant to be together and that she was only sorry she did what she did and made you two suffer, but to please forgive her and raised that little boy, so all you have to do gentleman is sign some paperwork and you can take your son with you, he doesn’t have a name yet, we been calling him baby Washington.’’ The lawyer explained.

Me and Ash looked at each other, and we both smiled.

‘’So, I take it you’re ok with this.’’ Ash asks me.

I snort f**k yeah, I’m ok with it; I've wanted a kid for a while now.

‘’Yes, I’m actually happy, we have a son Ash, we have a son.’’ I reach for him and hug him tightly to me; I was feeling the tears in my eyes.

‘’I’m sorry about Maddie.’’ I whisper sadly while caressing his cheeks.

He leans into my touch and close his eyes.

‘’It's ok, she was sorry and she knows I forgive her, and we get a piece of her in our son, she made us suffer for ten years, but then she is going to makes us happy for the rest of our lives by giving us the best present anyone can give, a baby, our son, what are we going to name him?’’ He looks at me waiting for me to decide on the name.

‘’How about, Holden Washington?’’ I offered.

Ash looked at me and thought for a bit and then smiled big.

‘’Yeah, it sounds like a good name.’’ He agreed sounding pleased.

10 years later.

‘’Holden Washington get your behind in here!’’ Screamed Dylan, he sounded pissed; I was in my dark room developing some pictures.

I heard some noise and then someone open the door very slowly; I learned that I had to do my dark room with a hallway in between where I developed mi pictures and the door just so when someone opens the door my work doesn't get ruined. Thanks to my son who managed to ruin some of my works once he started walking and getting curious with everything.

‘’Hey daddy, what you are doing?’’  My oh so innocent son asks me, while nervously glancing at the door.

‘’Holden, what did you do this time?’’ I sigh as I look at him and he drops his gaze down to the floor.

‘’I put a frog in Mia's bed and it scared her, and then I had put some paint on the door, but when Mia open the door it didn't work but when daddy did, well let’s just say daddy has a very pink color on him.’’ He lifted his big doe innocent eyes and look at me.

Mia was our three year old daughter, we adopted her when Holden was five years old, she was from Mexico her family all died in a house fire leaving the one year old with no family and alone in the world we fell in love with her the minute we laid eyes on the beautiful baby girl.

Holden was now nine years old and was into pranking people, this boy doesn't learn.

He loves his sister Mia, and she loves her bubby Holden, she calls him Oldyn, she is so cute she has long curly dark brown curly hair with green eyes, while Holden has light brown hair with hazel eyes; he has to wear glasses to see.

Me and Dylan are still very happy and very much in love. Our kind of love doesn't die; it only grows and gets stronger.

Me and my son made it out to the kitchen to find a flamingo looking Dylan, I snort loudly, and Dylan turn to look at me narrowing his eyes.

‘’Two weeks grounded, no 3ds, no psp, no Xbox, no PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, no music and no TV.’’ Das Dylan listed everything Holden’s face turns pale.

‘’Awe, but dad.’’ Holden exclaimed.

‘’You want to make it a month?’’ Dylan threatened. Holden slump his shoulders showing defeat.

‘’No daddy, I’m sorry I'll stop pranking.’’ He apologized with a sad voice, making Dylan soften a bit, he went and hug him and kissed him, yeah that’s my husband a hard ass and a softie at the same time.

And in came our little girl and jump into my arms, I gladly picked her up and kissed her while Dylan had Holden in his arms, I look at my family feeling proud.

So, in high school I fall in love, and lost him, but ten years after high school I got him back and got married, a year after that, we got Holden and then Mia. And now my family is complete, and my life is complete, and it has meaning.

And I’m so happy I gave Dylan the key to my heart.
