Chapter 2

Dylan Our flight got there on time. We were going to stay at my parent's house. I was not looking forward to this Weekend; Eddie on the other hand was having too damn much fun. He went to rent us a Mustang Cobra 2012, my favorite car of all time. I smile at him; He of course gave me his cheeky smile. ‘’I figured I keep my man happy.’’ He pipes with a huge grinned on his face; I raised an eyebrow questioning his choice of words. ‘’Well I’m your date for this weekend, so why not have a little fun besides we can both afford it.’’ He shrugs his shoulders as he tells me, and I just shake my head at my best friend. Later ‘’I’m hungry D.’’ Eddie whines, as I was finishing unpacking the last of my luggage, my parents loved Eddie and ask me when the wedding was. I rolled my eyes and sigh at the man child whining about being hungry. ‘’Come on than love, we'll go to my favorite diner.’’ I smile at him and he started jumping up and down, like that commercial of that dog, where they're announcing that bacon commercial. I chuckle and grab the very hyper Eddie. Once we got there, well everyone was just staring at us, some I knew and some I didn’t. But of course, the car had a lot to do with that. As we sat on a booth, a waitress came to get our orders. ‘’Hello, my name is Maddie, may I take your order?’’ She asks us as she took out a pad and pen. I stare at her; she looked tired, pale and so old. She huffed and lifts her head to meet my eyes, as soon as she saw me her eyes got wide open with surprise. ‘’Dylan, w-w.’’ She stutters. ‘’Babe you know our waitress?’’  Eddie spoke up as he raises a questioning eyebrow; he’s heard the story, so he knew who Maddie was. ‘’Hi Maddie, I’m here for the High school Reunion.’’ I said like it wasn’t a big deal. When inside I was a wreck, the woman that stole my boyfriend was standing right in front of me. ‘’Eddie this is Maddie, we went to the same school, Maddie this is Eddie my- ‘’I was cut by Eddie. ‘’His fiancee, hi nice to meet you, now I want a veggie burger, but instead of fries I want a chicken salad, with low fat ranch dressing and a water with a slice of lemon in it.’’ Eddie finishes ordering, bit Maddie was still staring at me. ‘’Did you get all that lady, or do I need to repeat myself?’’ Snaps a frustrated Eddie. ‘’Yeah um I did, how about you Dylan?’’ She finally spoke but you could still hear the trembling in her voice, why was she so nervous about seeing me, the last time I saw them she didn’t seem to cared that she had hurt me, so why was she acting so strange? ‘’I'll have the same, please.’’ I piped then handed her the menus and turn my attention on Eddie. She stood there frozen, until Eddie scowl at her. ‘’You know I’m hungry, and you standing here won’t help my hunger.’’ Eddie demanded; he was very rude to her. ‘’Did you have to be so rude?’’  I questioned him after Maddie left in a hurry. ‘’Yes, yes I did, I remember from our talks who she was.’’ He stated as if that explained his attitude towards her. We got our orders from another waitress, we ate, laugh and talk. We planned our weekend; I was going to take us to Cedar point, the Beach in Port Clinton and a few other places. We finish eating and Eddie insisted on leaving the tip, he laid a 50-dollar bill on the table, and I got up and hold his hand to walk out of the diner. ‘’Show off.’’ I murmured as we walk together. I wasn't looking where I was going, due to my i***t friend making fun of the little town I was born and raised. When all the sudden Smack and there I go down on the floor, I groaned and screamed a bunch of profanities. ‘’Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going, you alright?’’ The man who bumped into me apologized. I stop breathing, that voice I knew, that voice, that voice is the one that said, ’’I’m sorry but I can’t be with you,’’ all those years ago. That voice is the one that hunts my dreams at night. It’s been years but to me it was like it only had been yesterday when I last heard him. That voice belongs to Ash Washington, the man who broke my heart. Eddie knowing me, he knew what was going on and decided to jump in, bless him. ‘’Of course, he's not OK, why don’t you look where you're going, come on Dylan love let’s get out of here.’’ Eddie exclaim angrily, while giving me his hand so that I can get off the ground. ‘’Dylan?’’ Ash stammers, as if he couldn't believe it. ‘’Oh great another rude person that you know, really proud of the people you know babe, I mean really first that awful waitress and now this one jeesh, as soon as we get married we are changing your place of birth and we will never speak of this place, k hunny.’’ Eddie threw his arms up in the air as he keeps talking. ‘’You're getting married?’’ Ask a surprise Ash. I look into his eyes, my god those dark blue eyes that held pain, confusion and anger? Then I turn to look at Eddie who was looking at me with a worried look in his eyes. He saw the look in my eyes, he knew I was getting lost in Ash’s gaze, so I clear my throat and started the introductions, determined not to lose my head. ‘’Eddie love, please meet Ash, we went to the same High school.’’ I announce as I went to wrap my hands around Eddie's waist. ‘’We were more than just people who went to the same school.’’ Ash spats with anger in his voice; he was glaring at my arms around Eddie's waist. ‘’Yeah well, why dwell on the past, let's go babe, goodbye Ash.’’  I chided lazily and walked away leaving Ash standing there. As I walked away, I realized something. I’m still stupidly in love with Ash Washington. I’m doomed.
