CHAPTER 37 Rory came to slowly. Her vision was blurry, and her head felt like the inside of a struck bell. She tried to move, but found that she couldn’t even turn her head. As her vision began to clear, she saw what looked like rock overhead. She felt utterly disoriented, her thoughts scattered like leaves in the wind. She tried to gather them, but it felt as easy as picking up water with her fingers. She tried to move again, to sit up, but her body felt weak and useless, too sluggish to stir. Was she still sleeping? Was this a dream? Something was slowly coming back to her, but it felt distant, like a ship bell in the fog. And then in a sharp rush, it all came tumbling back to her.
