Chapter Thirteen – A Plan
Outside, the snow was coming down in wind driven sheets. Abul quickly joined several other men in the lead limousine. Madam Khe, the two Korean women, and Kathy took the second car. Kathy was surprised to see one of Madam Khe’s personal serving girls at the wheel.
With Miko and Mi Jong on either side of her, Kathy sat facing Madam Khe. The Chinese woman studied Kathy intently. Seeming to make up her mind about something, Madam Khe leaned forward. “Mrs. Volodyavic, that is your name now, do you like it? Are you happy to be the wife of Abul?”
Kathy had never felt it necessary to lie to Madam Khe. “I hate the name. I hate the murderer who is now my husband. I think you know these things, Madam.”
“Would you kill Abul if you had the opportunity?”
