Chapter 4.
After classes finished for the day and the final bell sounded, my heart fell. I had to go to detention, a hell I’d never before visited.
“You coming back to the room to change for dinner?” Tabby asked as she tried to walk along to our room, and I hung around the cafeteria instead.
It had become a bit of a habit this term to wear training gear most of the day, then changing into jeans for dinner and study time later.
“Ah... I can’t. I’ve gotta go to detention.”
“You’ve gotta go... where?” Tabby’s shock was obvious in her raised eyebrows and wide-open mouth.
“I got caught wandering around after curfew last night, and didn’t have a good enough excuse, so Selena ratted me out to the Dean.”
