“I can’t believe he really dumped me for a freakin’ guy!” Shriek Aki’s best friend as they entered the living room, looking devastated and angry at the same time. “If he left me for a girl, even if she’s ugly, I wouldn’t mind much…but a guy? Really?”
“Calm down, Rena. Just forget about him. I told you he’s bad news.” Aki sighed. He knows that his best friend is about to cry any moment now, but somehow he’s really happy that her boyfriend, no ex-boyfriend, dumped her.
“How can you say that?” Rena glared at him. “We were going out for almost a year! I can’t just forget about him! God! Why? Why a GUY???!!!! All gays should just die and go to hell! They’re enemies to all the girls in the world! You agree with me, right Aria-nee?”
“Huh?” Aki’s big sister looked up, confusedly, from wiping her camera; obviously she wasn’t really listening to Rena’s rant.
“You asked the wrong person.” Aki rolled his eyes in disgust. “You can’t expect a good opinion with a gay geek.”
“What’s wrong with being a gay?” Aria glared at her brother angrily.
“It’s so wrong if you leave your girlfriend for a guy!” Rena shrieked.
“Your boyfriend dumped you for a guy?” Aria raised a brow at Aki amusedly, and then shook her head at his best friend. “Your boyfriend left you because you’re just not good enough for him. You’re lucky he actually had the guts to dump you and not date you both at the same time.”
“Told you…” Aki mumbled.
“He still left me for a freakin’ guy! I can’t understand what goes in their head! They’re crazy and d–”
“You can’t generalize the third s*x just because one of them dumped you. You can’t judge people just because of their preferences!” Aria glared at her intensely; which made Rena swallow. She’d never seen Aria get this worked up, she’s usually the level-headed one on everything. “Plus, what if Jason isn’t really a gay–”
“If you’re a guy going out with a guy, you’re a gay.” Her brother rolled her eyes.
“That’s not true!” She frowned. “A guy can love another guy out of pure love! He doesn’t really have to be a gay!”
“I’m telling you, it’s the same.”
“No! It’s not!” Growled Aria. “You have no right to give your opinions, you stupid sexiest!”
“Because you actually consider gays and lesbians to belong to a sex.” He retorted sarcastically.
“Because they do! They’re the third s*x, stupid!!!”
“I’m not going to listen to your gay geek opinions anymore. They’re all stupid.” Aki sighed in exasperation, arguing with her sister is more frustrating than secretly following Rena and Jason on their dates.
“How many times do I have to tell you, you big stupid moron! I’m not a gay geek, I’m a Yaoi fan! That’s different!” She shrieked. “Not that there’s anything wrong with being a gay! Seriously! You two talk bad about them again, I’ll fuckin’ bald your head!” She growled, glaring at them angrily.
“Geez. We get it. Just go and indulge yourself on your craziness.”
“I really will!” She scowled, stomping away from the living room.
When Aki and Rena were sure Aria was out of ear shot, they sighed in relief.
“I would never have guessed how strongly Aria-nee feels about gays.” She shook her head. “That was the first time I saw her get so worked up over something.”
“There are a lot of things that other people don’t know about her. I don’t even understand how her mind works most of the time.”
“So where is she going? And was that the uniform of Howard All-Boys Academy she’s wearing?” Rena asked him curiously, but her answer was interrupted when Aria suddenly popped her head by the door way.
“Aki, I know your best friend is single again, but you can’t jump on her bones, okay? I know she’s hot and all, but let her cry over him for now. See yah!”
And she disappeared.
Both the younger teenagers blushed furiously.
“W-Wha–”
“That stupid gay geek!” Aki fished his phone from his pocket angrily and dialed a number.
“Hel–”
“Nee-san borrowed Tora’s uniform and plans to sneak inside your school today. She’ll probably be there in an hour.” Aki said to the phone heatedly.
“What’d she do this time?” Sighed the person on the other side of the line.
“She–!” Aki looked at Rena but turned away immediately, flushing more than before. “She just said something that pissed me off.” He exhaled slowly, trying to calm himself.
“I know. That’s the only time you would actually tell about your sister’s escapades.”
“That…” Aki trailed, not really knowing what to say to that.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of your sister. Just tell Tora that he’s dead when I see him again.” He said calmly.
“Right.” He swallowed. Ryu is definitely angry.
Aki put his phone away slowly then sat down on the couch. Talking to Aria and Ryu is really exhausting.
“Was that Ryu-nii?” Rena asked as she too plopped onto the couch beside him.
“Tora’s going to kill me…if Ryu-nii didn’t get to him first.”
“Ha?”
Not long after that conversation, in a certain academy somewhere…
“That’s it…take his hand and ki– Waahhh! Hey!” Aria stood up and tried to get back her camera that was suddenly grabbed from her, but immediately dock down in the bushes when the couple she was spying earlier turned to her direction. When they didn’t see anyone, they just hurriedly left the area. “Augh! There goes my object of inspiration…” She said sadly, as she looked at them run in opposite directions; and then glared at the person beside her, just as the said person threw her digital camera towards the pond a couple of meters from where they are. “No! Ryu, you big i***t! What did you just do?” She yelled angrily, grabbing at his sleeve. Hard.
“I’ll get you another camera.” Was all Ryu said, as he effortlessly yanked Aria up. “Come on, your field trip is over.”
“The camera is not important!” She growled eyes damp with unshed tears. “There are still pictures there I haven’t saved on my computer yet!”
“Good.”
“You’re an asshole, Ryu!” Aria pulled her arm free from Ryu’s hold and ran away, already in tears.
Ryu just sighed heavily and followed her.
“Stupid, stupid Ryu!” Sobbed Aria as she plopped down under a secluded tree she found, and took off her wig. “He should have been named Saru and not Ryu! Stupid, stupid Saru!” She wiped her eyes with the wig, not caring if she ruins it. “I bet it was Aki who called him. I’m going to kill that stupid big sexiest i***t when I get home!”
“Dude, you won’t believe what I just saw!” Someone suddenly exclaimed. Aria stood up in panic but was caught on the tree’s roots and fell back down again. “It’s a chic, dude! There’s actually a chic in this hell hole!”
“I-I’m not a chic, I’m a boy!” Aria stammered in her make-shift guy voice, as she backed away. And then she remembered that she took off her wig. “Great…” She mumbled angrily to herself.
“Right. And I’m a Princess.” Snickered the guy.
“What chic are you talking about, that can’t be pos– Whoah! There’s a girl in here.” Exclaimed the second guy in surprise. “Wait, she looks familiar…” He frowned at her.
“You probably saw her hanging around the Academy, waiting to get her chance to get inside and hook up with one of us Howard boys. Right, Ms. ‘I’m not a chic, I’m a guy’?” He snickered again and stepped towards her.
“Don’t even think about it!” Aria glared at him, disgusted written all-over her face. “I’m not here to do such a disgusting thing. And if ever I do, it won’t ever be with you.”
“Maeda, let’s go. I think that chic’s bad news.” The second guy tugged at his friend’s arm.
“Aww. Come on! Let’s hang out for a bit. You should feel sorry for us, seeing no one but guys and old hags the moment we stepped into this hell. Plus, hopeless chics like you don’t have the right to be choosy.”
“Sorry, but that hopeless chic belongs to me.” Ryu’s calm voice suddenly said from behind them.
“Kashiwagi-kaichou!” The guys exclaimed and backed away; looking to Aria and then back to Ryu again.
“Leave before I bite your heads off.” Ryu said calmly again, but everyone knows that really meant that he’s super angry.
“Y-Yes! We’re really sorry!” The both of them exclaimed and ran for their lives.
Aria looked away from Ryu as he walked towards her.
“Are you hurt?” Ryu asked gently as he squatted in front of her.
“Why do you care?” She glared on the tree trunk.
“I’m really sorry for throwing your cam.”
“I told you it’s not the camera! It’s the pictures inside!” This time she turned to glare at him hotly.
“I will never be sorry for throwing those.” Was the cold reply.
“Stupid, stupid Saru!” Aria cried like a kid, not caring if someone finds out about her again anymore. “I hope you slip on a stupid banana peel and die!”
“Yes, yes. Now, come on. Let’s get you out of here before a teacher sees you.” He pulled her up on her feet, and grabbed the wig to hand to her. “Put it on.”
Aria was still crying when she finally fixed her wig.
“Stop crying, Aria.” Ryu sighed. “You’ll really get someone’s attention and get us both into trouble.”
“I don’t mind getting you into trouble.” She sobbed, and then cried again.
“Why am I not surprised.” He mumbled sarcastically.
“This is why I like being friends with gays more; they’re more understanding and nice than you stupid, perverted guys.”
“So, you’re going to fall in love with gays too?” He asked, looking straight ahead in the path they’re at.
“Not if I can help it.” She finally stopped crying, and proceeded to wipe away her tears with her sleeves.
“Use this.” Ryu grabbed her arms from her face and handed her his handkerchief.
“I’m not going to say ‘thank you’.” She said stubbornly, although still taking the handkerchief. “You’re the one who made me cry in the first place.”
Ryu just sighed.
“Anyway, like I said, I don’t want to fall for a gay if I can help it. As much as I like Yaoi, I don’t want to be like Rena. Not that I blame Jason or anything, and I do think Rena is great the way she is.” She sighed. If Aki heard what she just said, she won’t hear the end of it. “My point is, I don’t want to have a love triangle with a guy if I’m not the center of it!”
“You’re really self-centered.” Ryu rolled his eyes.
“Ryu, you can’t fall for a guy, okay?” Aria pulled Ryu to a stop, and looked at his eyes seriously; completely ignoring his insult.
Ryu just smiled at her weakly. “As if that’ll ever happen.” He pulled her close to him. “My heart already belongs to someone. And it won’t change whatever happens.”
“Okay.” Aria smiled happily and hugged him back.
Talk about mood swings.
