CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX: THE LEAK --- I. THE CHAMBER The cell was a vault lined with silence. Leo had been in worse places. The Drakh had stripped it of every connection—no terminal, no data-port, no comm panel. The walls were bare metal, thick enough to block every signal the ship's systems carried. The guards who brought his rations did not speak. They slid the tray through a slot and left. The door sealed with a hiss that sounded like a promise: you are alone. He was not alone. ECHO said. "So they're learning." Leo sat on the bunk, his back against the cold wall. The dead man's shirt was beginning to fray at the cuffs. "Can you hear anything? Footsteps? Guard rotations?" "Useful." --- II. THE VISITORS They came one by one, a parade of faces Leo learned to read like star charts.
