Before we reached the dinning room I stopped Aiden. "Why did you kiss me today?" I asked.
He sighed and looked at the ground.
"I.. don't know." He answered when he looked up. "You are mine and when Will was flirting with you I just... I don't know. I didn't like it." He added when I glared at him.
He's got to be joking, I thought. He was the one that was making out with some engaged woman and who knows what else and he was acting all possessive on me.
"I wanted everyone to know that you were mine." He continued when I didn't say anything.
"You are joking right?" I asked. He shook his head and looked at the ground again. I just looked at him in disbelief.
After a full minute of silent I shook my head at him. "You are such a hypocrite." I said in a soft voice.
"Soph-" I held my hand up to silent him.
"I can't believe you." I said and left.
As I entered the dinning room, everyone fell silent. After a few seconds Liam was the first to come to me and hug me in a bone crushing hug.
"You literary gave me heart attack." He said.
"Sorry." I said in a small voice. "You might want to loosen your grip, Liam." I said after it got unbearable.
"Sorry." He apologized.
"Where's Aiden?" Ethan asked in a suspicious when Liam let go of me.
"What did he?" Noah asked, after he looked at my face at the mention of his name.
"Nothing." I answered.
"You know you are not a good liars, right?" Lucas asked.
"Just leave me alone." I said, and went to sit down on my seat.
"Eat." It was dad who ordered me.
I sighed and started to eat.
"Mom, dad," Aiden said when he came in. I didn't lift my head to look at him. "Do you mind if I go home?" He asked.
"You can't leave." Dad answered. "I need to talk to you, and as you know I am still eating, so take a seat."
I could feel Aiden looking at me before making his way to the seat next to me, the seat he was sitting before. He sat down and everyone went back to eating. I could feel everyone glancing my way occasionally, to make sure I wasn't having another one of m attacks, I guess.
After a while it got on my nerve and I couldn't take it anymore.
"Would you all stop?" I said in an irritated tone. "I'm fine. I am not going to have another attack I promise."
"We are just making sure you are ok." Dad said.
"I'm ok, I swear." I said, in a softer tone.
After that no one said anything and no one looked at me like before.
After we ate we moved to the living room and dad went to talk to Aiden. I could guess about what.
"If you excuse me," I said, after dad and Aiden left to talk. "I have some work to get done." I smiled politely and left without waiting for their answer.
I went to my room to be greeted by an annoyed looking Rose.
"When were you planning on telling me that you were engaged to Aiden?" She asked as soon as I closed the door.
"I'm sorry." I said as I made my way to where she was sitting on the bed. "I found out last night and needed some time to process the news."
She sighed and smoothed down her black and white dress and her headband that pushed her hair away from getting in her eye.
"I know but I was worried about you." She said when she looked at me. "I heard you had an episode downstairs tonight?" She asked.
"Yeah." Was all I said.
"Want to share?" She offered, so I told her everything that has happened since yesterday after I left for dinner.
"Wow." She said when I was done. "Wait, OMG. You had your first kiss?" She squeaked.
"Out of all that happened since yesterday that's all you got out of it?" I rolled my eyes at her.
"Yes." She practically jumped up from the bed. "And not just with anyone, with Aiden freaking King." I had to laugh at her enthusiasm. Leave it to Rose to be like this in a my situation.
She narrowed her eyes at me when I laughed, and was about to say something when there was a knock on the door.
"Come in." I said.
When the door opened the last person I was expecting came in, Aunt Margaret.
Rose quickly straightened up and excused herself.
"Can I?" Aunt Margaret asked, gesturing to the spot next to me on the bed.
"Of course," I said. " You don't have to ask if you can sit down or not Auntie." I added in a soft voice.
She smiled and sat down.
"I know that you are angary at my son and your dad and your brother but it was their decision as it was yours." She said. "They all have one goal, and that is to protect you. They love you and everything that they do is to protect you from harm that's out there."
"But what harm?" I asked.
"You will find out soon, sweetie." She said with a sad answer and muttered something under her breathe, the only thing I got out of it was your mother.
I wanted to ask what she said but knew she won't answer. Aunt Margaret was about to say something but there was a knock on the door.
"Rosie?" Dad said.
"Yes, dad?" I answered.
"Are you ok?" He asked when he came in. I gave him a confused look.
"Downstairs, your episode." He reminded me.
"Oh," I said, turning red. "I'm ok dad."
"Do you mind me asking," Aunt Margaret asked. "What happened?"
"I-" I didn't know what to answer her. "That's how my body and mind reacts to emotions that are too much."
"Oh." was all she said.
"You didn't tell me you still had them." Dad said when he brought a chair and sat in front of me.
"I never stopped having them." I said, in a bitter tone.
I saw hurt flash across his face before he hung his low and avoided eye contact.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"No," I said. "I'm sorry. I know you have a lot going on." I smiled.
Suddenly, I felt a hand on my hands. I looked down and saw Aunt Margaret has wrapped her hand round mine.
"Calm down, honey." She said. "You are shaking." She added when I gave her a confused look.
"Sorry." I said.
"Did mom knew?" I asked the question that was bothering me since I found out that I was engaged since I was two.
I looked between my dad and Aunt Margaret.
"Did she?" I asked when neither answered.
"Yes." Aunt Margaret was the one to finally answer. "But she wasn't happy about it."
"So she knew?" I said, tears threatening to spill.
Suddenly, I felt tired, very tired.
"I'm tired." I said. "It has been a long day and I couldn't sleep last night. If you don't mine I want to sleep." I said.
"You ok, Rosie?" Dad asked.
"Yes." I said before heading to the closet to change.
After I changed and came back out both of them were still there. When they saw me Aunt Margaret stood up and so did dad. I managed a tired smile and went under the covers. I could feel dad was worried about me.
"I'm fine, dad." I said. "Just tired."
"Well we leave you to get some rest." He said and come to kiss my forehead before him and Auntie left.
***********************************************************************************************
I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm.
I groaned as I rolled to my side and looked at the clock. Shoot, thought as I saw the time. I'll be late if I don't get up now.
I got up with difficulty and went to the bathroom. After taking a bath blow drying my hair and braiding them then making them a bun I went to my room and changed to a black shirt and black and white square pants and white shoes.
I put on my wig and glasses and a golden rose pendant necklace with matching earrings and bracelet and ring.
I went down stairs and froze in my place when I heard voices.
I hurried down and sure enough my dad, Uncle Jacob, Liam and Aiden were there waiting for me.
"Hi." I said breathlessly. "I overslept, sorry."
"You overslept and still managed to get ready by seven?" Aiden asked.
"Hi to you, too" I said sarcastically. "And yes I did. Are we going or not?" I asked my dad the last part.
"You are going with Aiden." My dad answered.
"What?" I asked, bewildered. "Dad I am not the Princess right now and Aiden King is the Princess's fiancé."
"So?" Liam said. "And you are his friend."
"For someone so smart," I said. "You sure can be dumb sometimes." I smirked at the last part. I was like this to every one the boys, and the part that I love is that they won't say anything to me, no matter what I say to them. I love them.
"Hey." He says in mock hurt and place his hand on the left his side of his chest on his heart. "That hurt and wasn't called for."
I stuck out my tongue for him like a child and flipped him off.
"Ok," My dad said after we had on our childish show. "You two need to stop and you need to get in the car."
"Doesn't she eat breakfast?" Uncle Jacob asked.
"You haven't eaten breakfast in two days, have you?" Dad asked with his eyes narrowed.
I looked down and shook my head. I heard dad sigh and tell one of the maids to get me something to eat.
After the maid brought me something to eat we started to head outside. Outside I saw my bodyguard near a car.
"Ready to go?" Uncle Jacob asked.
"Yes." I smiled and nodded.
"Good," Dad said. "Get in the car before you're late."
I nodded and went to sit down in the car in the back since Zach had already opened it.
"Be careful Rosie." Dad called out.
"I will, bye." I said.
After we Aiden sat down I looked at him. He was quiet after that first question.
"Aiden," Dad tapped on the windows and Aiden rolled it down. "Don't forget what we talked about last night."
Aiden just nodded. I looked confused between the two. What did they talk about?
Dad stepped away from the car and Zach started to go.
"What did you two talk about last nigh?" I asked Aiden.
He just shrugged as a response.
"What the hell is wrong with you Aiden?" I asked when he didn't say anything.
"Nothing." He answered.
"Then why aren't you talking?" I asked.
"I am talking." He said. "See."
"You know what?" I said. "You can go to hell for all I are." And with that I turned from him and looked out the window.
I heard Aiden sigh and run his hand in his hair.
"You need to eat something." He said after a few minutes.
"I'm not hungry." I answered.
"That wasn't a request." He said in a firm tone. "Now eat."
I rolled my eyes at him and went back to look out the window.
he sighed again and ran his hand through his hair.
"Soph," He said softly. "You need to eat something."
"I'm not hungry." I said while I rested my head on the back rest and looked at him.
"Just try to eat" He said and took the bag from me and opened it.
I rolled my eyes but was about to eat when my phone rang. I looked down and saw that it but didn't recognize the number.
"Who is it?" Aiden asked.
"None of your business." I don't know why but that was my answer. I could tell that he was taken a back by my answer but quickly recovered and put on a blank expression. I sighed and answered the call.
"Hello?" I said.
No response was all I got.
"Hello?" I said, again.
No answer, again.
"What the..."
"Are you going to tell me who it is or not?" Aiden asked from next to me.
"No," I said. "because I don't know who it is." I looked up from my phone.
"What do you mean?" He asked, c*****g his head to the side and raising an eyebrow at me.
I showed him my phone and he took it from me. He studied it for a few moments. "Fuck." He muttered. He pulled his phone out and called someone.
"Hey," He said in a rushed tone. "Look I know, I know but this is important. It's about her and They." A pause. "Yes, Them. They got her number and just called her." Another pause. "I won't, I promise. Bye."
"Who was that?" I asked as soon as he hung up.
"Umm, no one." He said still looking at my phone. I took it back.
"That was not nothing, don't lie to me." I demanded.
'"Doesn't matter, ok? Just drop it." He snapped at me.
I shook my head at him and looked out of the window.
Who was she talking to? Who are these 'They' he said? And why do the way he said it sound so familiar? Suddenly I knew where I heard it.
Three nights ago, when Dad told the Boys about me going to a public school, that was what Liam was arguing about and led me and him to argue about. So Aiden also knows who these 'They' are and I am the only one who doesn't know what that means.
"I'm sorry." Aiden said. "I didn't mean to snap at you. It's just that- never mind. I'm sorry."
I didn't even look at him to let him know that I was listening.
We pulled up in front of the school and I was quick to get out of the car.
"Be careful, Aurora." Aiden said as he yanked me back from the middle of the street. I heard a horn being sound. I looked back and saw a car just passing by. "Are you trying to kill yourself?"
"Sorry." I muttered. I looked down and bite my lip.
"Goddamn it, Rora." Aiden said.
I pulled away from him and looked to both sides to hide my blush. I started toward the school doors. I could feel everyone was staring at me and could hear everyone whispering, I did let any of that get to me. As soon as I walked in I heard someone call my name.
"Aurora!" Emily said as she came toward, like she had something she wanted to gossip about or something.
Suddenly, I felt like someone wrapped his arm around my waist. Aiden.
What the hell is he doing? I really wanted to scream at him to let me go. I looked over my shoulder at him, giving him a stern look to let me go, but all he did was smirk. Jerk, I thought.
I looked at Emily and saw her looking between me and Aiden strangely. She looked at me and gave me a questioning look.
"Can I talk to you," She gave Aiden a look. "Alone. It's important."
"Yeah. Give me a second, ok?" I said, giving her a smile. She nodded in response, and stepped back.
I tried to get out of his grip, discreetly. But all that caused was for him to tighten his grip on me.
"Let me go." I demanded, looking at him over my shoulder. "Please." I added in a softer tone.
"Fine." He said as he loosened his grip on me. But as I was about to slip away he pulled me back in and I let out an involuntary squeak.
"Be back soon, please." He whispered so close to my ear that I could feel his breath tickling my ear. After that he placed a small kiss on my neck. I blushed ducked my head to hide it.
I got out of his grip and went toward where Emily was. We headed toward the Girl's restroom.
"What the hell are you doing, coming to school with him?" Emily asked, more like demanded, when I closed the door behind me. "Haven't you heard what happened?"
"What to you mean by that?" I asked her.
"You haven't heard?" said a voice from behind me. I swirled around and was ready to do hurt whoever that was behind me.
"Sorry, no." I said and lowered my hand. It was Ali. I saw them looking at each other, giving each other a weird look. They looked at me and gave me the same look.
"What is going on?" I asked.
Emily sighed and looked at Ali.
"Do you have the very young teacher for chem?" Ali asked.
"Yeah?" I looked at them, puzzled.
"She was fired today." Emily said. I gestured for them to go on. "She was fired for having an inappropriate relationship with a student."
"What the hell?" I yelled.
"Calm down, will you?" Ali said.
"With who? How did they find? How-" I was about to ask more questions but I was cut off.
"Ok, stop." Emily cut in. "We know the answer to one of the question."
"Which one?" I asked.
"Who she was found with." Emily said. I looked at her expectedly. But she just looked down.
"Aiden." Ali was the one to answer.
"What the hell do you mean by that?" I asked in a shaky voice.
"Aiden was the one who.... slept with the teacher." Ali answered.
"No." I said in a small, shaky voice. "It can't- He won't do this. Not to me." I added the last part in a whisper, more to myself than them.
"What do you mean?" Emily asked.
"Nothing." I answered, absent mindedly. "I have to go." I left the bathroom after that.
When I got out I saw Aiden. He was talking to some of his friends, laughing at what one of them said. As if he sensed that I was looking at him, he looked up and our eyes met. After a few seconds, the smile on his face died and he looked at me with a concerned look on his face. He started to come towards me.
"What is going on?" He asked when he got near enough.
"Is it true?" I asked in a small voice.
"Is it true that it was you who slept with the teacher?" I asked in a voice that was much more studier. He didn't answer, just looked at the ground. "So it is true. Say it, Aiden. I want you to say it."
"Aiden," I said after he didn't answer. "I'm talking to you. So answer me."
"Yes," He said, avoiding eye contact with me. "Yes, it was me who slept with the teacher."
I couldn't take it anymore. I backed away from him. He looked up at me and reached out.
"I can explain." Aiden begged. I shook my head again. There were tears in my eyes, I had to look down to stop the tears from coming.
I looked at him again, the look on his face was one of pure pain and shame. I couldn't take it anymore, so I looked away.
"I'm sorry, Rora." He said. "You have to believe me, Rora. I'm sorry."
"I need to go." I said, and went back to the restroom.
The girls were still in the restroom and when I saw them I couldn't hold it anymore, I broke down. They came rushing to me, they hugged me and tried to sooth me with reassuring words.
"I need to go." I said, through all the tears and sobs. I pulled my phone out and dialed Ethan's number.
"I need you to come and get me." I said as soon as he answered the phone, my voice was barely above a whisper.
"What's wrong?" He asked, concern was dripping from his voice. "Have you been crying?"
"Can you just..." My voice cracked and I had to pause so I could take breath and compose myself again. "Can you just pick me up?"
"Yes, of course." He paused. "I'll be there in five."
I hanged up and looked at the girls, they both had the same worried expression on their faces. I managed a small smile.
