Kira pulled into her regular parking spot in front of her apartment. She smiled. She was happy with the way things had gone with Nick. She hadn’t told him everything, but at least she had been up front about the fact that she did have a new lead on the Procurer—in a round about way, at least. It was a relief to be that honest with him. She had been half-afraid he might get upset when she practically admitted she was holding back new evidence. After all, if things went sideways, and it came out that he knew she was withholding critical information... Well, she would be charged with obstruction, and he could lose his badge.
