"Thank God you came!" Javier said anxiously as he pulled the woman into a bone-crushing hug. He had been edgy since Alastair Cooper's funeral, and his paranoia had increased.
He had been on the lookout from the day he decided to mess with Samantha Grayson, and now that he had seen Miss Sandoval; he was all over the place. He snapped at everyone and barely listened to reason. Everything made him angry, more especially seeing his wife, Danielle.
"Why did you call me here? What if someone sees us? Where is your wife?" Brianna asked as soon as she pulled away, the panicked look in her eyes making Javier rethink his decision. "Javier, we spoke about this; we can't be seen together." She said in her deep voice.
Javier sighed and threw his head back in frustration. "I know." He breathed. "I know and I'm sorry." He looked at her with sad eyes. "I love you, Bree." He said and pulled her into another tight hug.
Brianna embraced him although she was worried. "I love you too, Javier." She sighed and relaxed in his arms. She pulled away and looked into his tired eyes; he had thick bags under his eyes, and he smelt like alcohol and vomit. "Did something happen?" She asked.
Javier opened his mouth to deny it, but thought against it. This concerned them both, and he knew lying to her would not work in his favour. He nodded his head and led her to the sitting room.
They sat and he took her frail hands in his own big hands. "How are the children?" He asked, and the worried look on her face morphed into a bright smile.
"They are okay; just giving me and their dad trouble as usual." She said warmly, and then became serious again. "Why did you call me here, Javier? Does it have anything to do with my sister-in-law, Sam?" She asked, her button nose scrunched up in worry.
Javier shook his head. "No, not at all." He sighed and leaned against the couch. "How much do you remember about the m******e?" He asked and watched as Brianna's features tensed.
She became colder, looking nothing like the loving mother and wife she was when with her family. "Why are you asking me about that?" Her voice had a rough and angry tone to it.
Javier knew she hated talking about this, but he needed some sort of answer; he needed the go ahead to execute his plan to get rid of Antonina Sandoval. "I saw Miss Sandoval today at the memorial service."
"She's alive?" The woman's eyes brightened with hope and longing as if she was looking for something from her past, to hold on to. "Where is she? I want to see her."
"I'm afraid that won't be possible."
"Why not?" She chuckled. "That woman saved our lives, Javier. Have you forgotten about that?"
"How could I?" He asked bitterly. "It may look as if she saved us; but she didn't. She was the one who led those murderers into our home, because that man who murdered our families; was her lover."
"W-what?" She breathed.
Javier loved the look on her face. There was nothing in this world that was more dangerous than pain. Pain turned to hatred, and hatred morphed into anger; and from there, only destruction followed.
"Your favourite nanny, Miss Sandoval, is now known as Mrs Dos Santos; the wife of the worst man to ever live. How about that?" He tormented.
"N-no. That–" she shook her head in disbelief, her dark hair bouncing on her shoulders. "There must have been a reason, she couldn't have married him for-" she waved her hands in the air. "Love." She concluded. "I want to see her." She said stubbornly and folded her arms.
Javier gritted his teeth in frustration. Why could she not see the truth? Miss Sandoval killed their parents, and she was still alive and breathing. "That can be arranged." He said with a tight-lipped, his voice cold. "But let me tell you something, sweetheart; I am going to kill that woman and her entire family."
Brianna stood up and stared down at him angrily. "Over my dead body."
Javier stood to her level and grinned at her. "Watch what you say, Brianna." He warned.
"No. You watch what you say to me. If anything happens to that woman; I won't hesitate paying your little Rafaela a visit, and tell her about her dear brother." She said defiantly.
Javier raised a questioning eyebrow at her and laughed humorously, his eyes sparkling in triumph. "Look who's talking." All the humour faded from his face, replaced by a hard, dangerous look. "Let me set this straight, my irmã; Anita Simmons is one person, but your family..." He whistled with a shake of his head. "Your husband will divorce you and take your kids away from you, and your mother-in-law and sister-in-laws; I don't even want to think about it. So you decide, is it going to be your children, or the woman who murdered our parents?" The question did nothing to quench his regret, but he had to do it.
"What is going on here?" Danielle's cold voice rang through the silent house, and both Javier and Brianna froze. She came to stand next to Javier and clung to his arm, forcing a smile as she looked at her sister-in-law. "What are you doing here, Brianna?"
Brianna returned her fake smile and picked up her handbag. "I just came to warn your husband to stay far away from Samantha."
"Is that so?"
"Hmm." Brianna hummed, not breaking contact.
Javier cleared his throat and pulled Danielle closer to him. "Honey, your sister was just leaving." He said soothingly, giving Brianna his most intimidating look.
Danielle scoffed and stepped aside. "She is not my sister. But I'm glad she's leaving."
Seeing as she was no longer needed around, Brianna gave Javier one last look before she stormed out; leaving Javier with a bitter taste in his mouth.
Danielle watched the open door in dislike, and snarled. "I'm sure you don't even want to know how my day was." She stated.
Javier rolled his eyes before he walked away. "What you do with your life is none of my business, Miss Anderson."
"Mrs Anderson-Mendoza!" Danielle yelled angrily and slammed the door shut.
