*Lucian* The Great Exhibition is fascinating, but it pales when compared with Evangeline and Frannie staring in awe at the massive diamond. It is locked inside a cage, lit from below with gaslight. I am as intrigued by the enclosure as I am by the diamond itself. But still it can't hold my attention for long. My head begins hurting as soon as I drop the boy on my shoulders. It spikes at the stuffed elephant exhibit. I suspect it's because the boy's enthusiasm has him fairly bobbing up and down, hitting my head. But I fight back the pain because I'm not going to give up these moments of watching Evangeline and Frannie together. They are talking, smiling.
