The house felt unusually quiet as Annabelle stepped out of the study, her mind still swirling with unanswered questions about Sebastian. She paused in the hallway, her hand resting on the banister as she stared at the empty foyer. The absence of Sebastian’s usual presence was like a missing puzzle piece, and it left her feeling unsettled.
